I lived away for 3 years, but I'm back living in the family home until I can gather the means to leave again. I'm so glad I have somewhere to come back to, though. I would be screwed otherwise...

  • Good God. One of the highest in the poll right now is males over 19 living with parents.

..that's gotta be hard to find a date.

23 year old guy, "so hey..wanna catch a show?"
    ..prospective date, "maybe...then what?"
23 year old guy, "we could go back to my place, but make sure we don't wake mom...the door squeaks a little.."

    ..prospective date..."umm oh look! There's a thing...gotta go! Umm...maybe some other time?"

Funny that. Most of the girls I know who are my age still live with their parents as well.

      • Maybe I'm jaded but...not for me. I like independence.

Haha..of course, I'm 45. If any woman my age lived with her parents, it'd be because they were dependent upon her...which would prove she's admirable.

        • "not for me. I like independence"

Lots of serial killers live with their parents, and they seem to live pretty "independant" lifestyles hahaha.

Moved out when I was 19 and never moved back in, lived in a trailer for a while and slowly but surely moved up. Let me tell you something, living in a trailer with only a mattress on the floor in the corner and some cooking equipment, inviting a girl isn't much easier than when you live with your parents.

  • Wasn't sure what to answer on this one since I live at uni most of the time but live at home during holidays.

I do, I used to live on my own but then I messed up badly. I'm lucky they let me move back in until I get myself back together, so I'm pretty grateful.

Yes, because I have mental issues I haven't managed to overcome. I'd rather live alone because I am afraid of my parents for no good reason (and I am 22) and it restricts me. My mother works, but I must support with my disability pension.

I live with my mum cause she ain't got nobody else to look after her. We both work, and honestly, I'd like to move out, but I dunno how to tell her, cause she'll get lonely once I leave.

I'm a female and I moved out when I was only 15years old. Have 3 younger siblings so there wasn't enough room.

I had to spend 2 weeks with my folks a few years ago while waiting for a job.

I almost went out of my mind. I witnessed myself turning into George Costanza.

As a permenent living arrangement? Holy shit.

I left the nest at 18 and have not returned except to visit.

Not in forever. Man, do I miss my room being randomly cleaned by my mom though. I dont however miss the feeling of sheer terror knowing she threw out the empty coke and weed baggies that littered my coffee table.

  • Nope, not any more. Actually, it's been a very long time since I last lived with them - I moved out after I graduated from high school.

I envy those people who had the opportunity to live at home while going to college/university.

I'm 19 and don't live with my parents. I moved to university when I was 18. The best choice I ever made.
I love my family so much and miss them terribly but everytime I go home, I get sick of them with 3 days.

Yes, I do. I'm not moving out until I find a job elsewhere that is further away and when I do have the right amount of money to do so. I love my family dearly even though there are many quirks. :)

It does hurt me a little being away from them but I really want to live my own life in my own home; like an adult. ha

living with parents until I get through college. I've been trying hard to get out sooner but it just works out better to bum a roof from them for awhile.
