    • Yes. I jiggled the knob but it was locked, so I went nextdoor instead. Ah, the pitfalls of a door-to-door Bible salseman. Oh well.

Because I live in the Irish countryside, crime is extremely rare. I mean, the place I live looks like "The Shire" from "Lord Of The Rings."
Saying that, I know I SHOULD lock them, but I'm the first to admit my laziness in the locking ritual. At this stage, living here for my whole life, without a single break-in, locking doors simply prevents something that probably wont happen.
It looks like I'm the only one who chose the "Long periods of Time (Vacation etc) option. I would lock it when I'm away because I'd feel if (and that's a small "if") there was a break in, I'd like to be nearby, not in France, Spain or any other holiday destination, where I'm helpless.

If I lived in the city, I would definitely lock my doors!

When I lived in the country I never locked my cars or doors and had no problems. But now that I live in the middle of a city I lock my cars and doors at all times. No one can be trusted.

  • When the house is robbed it's too late to lock the door.

So true. When the child is born spouting irrelevant idiom and pretending to be wise, it's too late to abort.

Two doors. One locked electronically, and the inner door double-locked, dead-bolted, and alarmed at all times. Been here two years and haven't been raped or beaten unconscious once. You can't put a price on safety.

I do not lock my doors I tie fishing wire to the trigger of a loaded shot gun pointed at my door.

You idiot. The point was to say that you should be prepared at all times and that there is a time and place for all actions.

Idiot. Moron. Tool. Think twice before you EVER assume say something irrelevant.

    And get off my color.

I always lock my house doors. This isn't a TV Sitcom where the characters ALWAYS leave their apartment door unlocked which is extremely stupid. Look at Good Times. They lived in the crime drizzled Projects and they were constantly going on about their poverty and strife. So, that in mind if this was realistic, would they actually leave their door unlocked?

I always lock the doors. I'm a skittish paranoid person at times and doing so makes me feel a little less freaked out. Plus we have kids on the street who will brazenly wander right into your house without batting an eye. So locking is essential-at least to me.

There's no way to close my front door without locking it. Or maybe with a piece of plastic or something...

Where I live, whoever doesn't lock their doors won't be a live for much longer.
