I think it's very immature. No one should have the right to deny others their happiness. I can understand that some people want to follow their religion, and that's understandable, but hell, I'm Catholic, the Bible frowns upon homosexuality, but really in my mind, God himself didn't write the Bible, MAN did, and man can be biased. The way I see it, if God made people in his image, that means he made homosexuals in his image too, and since God loves all, that means the gays are loved by him too.

I would like to post these on a billboard. Considering that America is so Christian, I fail to understand why people don't realize this.

Its 2012, eight states now allow gay marriage, its only a matter of time before all states do. People need to get over forcing their beliefs on others, gays getting married doesn't affect them anyway. let's all focus on fixing our economy :)

It's fine if you aren't Gay, but that gives you no right to bash on them. If being Gay makes someone happy, let it be for fucks sake! It's not YOUR life, it's THEIRS, so why must you control it?! Oh yeah, YOU CAN'T.

I think it's immature for anyone to be anti-gay.

Christians know that it is wrong to be anti-anyone. Why do you think most Christians would hesitate to take the oppurtunity to tell a gay or a lesbian to their face that homosexuality is immoral, they shouldn't have the right to marry (because somehow being gay makes them less of a person and less deserving of rights) and that they will be going to hell because they are not attracted to the opposite sex?

If you give so much of a shit about the welfare and salvation of others, why don't you go work for a charity or take steps to prevent corporate corruption? Is gay/lesbian relations somehow more important than the economic climate of our country?

How about they just admit that they are against interracial couples to?

God I just want to time travel to the future just so I don't have to hear people talk about fucking gay rights. OBVIOUSLY they deserve their rights too. It's a matter of time. If you're against gay rights you're just a dumbass living in the past. Grow up and stop hindering human progress...

Being gay and sexual intimacies shouldnt even be a conversation in politics. That's so dumb... I'm sorry but Jesus christ, they talk about it because they know people will get pissed or agree, they know its a hot subject and there are strong opinions on both sides. It's a political game to reel you into their Line or against it. It's just a way to create controversy and pick up votes from they majority. It really shouldn't even be talked about in politics.. its got nothing to do with what actually matters when running a country. Just let people fuck who ever they want and let's get to the real issues here...

What the hell does it matter if it is in their religion? Most of them are christian, yet they don't kill witches and children whom misbehave anymore, and the verses in the bible which proclaim that these acts must be done are (ironically) in the same chapter of Leviticus as the verses which state that homosexuals are an abomination deserving of death. They are either using "holy books" as an excuse to conceal their own bigotry, or they unquestioningly follow a doctrine without discernig whether or not it is actually moral. Both of the afformentioned acts are either malicious or asinine, along with immature.

I always find it funny that those who love to talk about personal freedom and the government interfering into people's lives are usually the same ones who want to tell you what you can do with your body and who with.

There's something strangely perverse with those so obsessed with gays that they can't stop thinking about them, possibly a side effect of their self perceived moral superiority.

It's just religion, outdated and ridiculous in many ways.
I think the places where there's the least "gay-bashing" are East Asia (Japan, China, Korea) and Europe, where religion does not have a grip on the people anymore.
The must dangerous places to be as a gay person have to be Africa with its lower half almost entirely Christian and it's upper half almost entirely Muslim, and Muslim countries, where religion sometimes is more important than justice or the law.
It's pathetic, it's 2012, not the stone ages..

    • Omg it wouldn't even matter if we were living in 2020! You're just upset that there are other people in the world who don't approve homos, you just have to accept that and live your life.

No it wouldn't matter if we were living in 2020, what a stupid thing to say, that's only 8 years from now.
I'm not upset, trust me I'm not a very emotional person, I disagree with it though.

True. I guess that's why personal beliefs should be allowed to be expressed, but they shouldn't imposed on other people.

Though I shouldn't tell this, since I guess I'm preaching to the choir here. Oh well, nice to find sensible people on the internet once in a while.

The problem is that liberal society wants to paint you as a "hater" if you're not pro-gay.

Even if you don't attack a single person, if you don't agree with their way of things, they try to paint you as the devil himself.

perhaps that's the real problem. the knee-jerk reactions and attempts to force a way of life down someone's throat, whether they agree or not

      Speaking of knee jerk reactions...

Who is it who is forcing their ways down the throats of others? People who just want the freedom to live their lives with the same rights as others or those who want to deny those rights and freedoms?

I didn't paint you as a hater. You think you can shut down discussion if you claim someone calls you a hater?

Seriously using the term hater in discussion is becoming as tedious and boring as calling someone else a nazi.

              In a way, yes.

When your post elicits a response your reaction is to dismiss it as knee jerk and ignore any points made and then accuse the post of painting you as a hater when it did no such thing. It shuts down discussion, that's all i'm saying.

Rick Santorum is a douchebag. And he will always be a douchebag no matter what he says. I believe this, simply due to his lack of regard for the female gender. If you want to support Santorum, that is of course your decision, though I would prefer he not be elected; I am simply stating my opinion.

I find it hilarious how these "liberal and open-minded" pro-gay people are actually the most immature, close-minded and selfish people.

Or would you consider it mature to verbally (and often physically) attack someone because he/she isn't pro-gay? Nowadays even every TV show has to have one gay, because otherwise the producers are considered to be anti-gay.

Seriously? Your talking about a presidents views on sexuality... Look l like to suck a good dick from time to time but there are more serious problems at the moment like O' I don't know, massive debt, high unemployment, exploding gas prices, devaluation of the dollar, the housing market on the brink of another collapse. A failing education system, an out of control EPA.

What do I care about what the president thinks about my dick sucking habit in the face of all that.

It certainly is immature as to how they're going about it.

I believe that everyone ought to have the right to have their relationship recognized, be it homosexual or not. Not one person on the planet has the right to "act as God" and determine whether being gay is a sin or not (I certainly don't think it is- it would void every principle of love and acceptance that the entire Christian faith is based on).

It's one thing, as a politician, to be opposed to gay marriage- I don't agree with this belief, but I understand and respect why and how some people have come to be against it. The presendential candidates are being immature, however, in their approach. I've heard quite a few candidates say awfully nasty and hypocritical things- things that just seem utterly hateful- regarding this issue, and it's just not right.
