Do you think people have become too polarized in their beliefs?

Just wondering if anyone else feels like me. I'm not sure if it's the internet, social media or just natural progression in society but I feel that many people have become way too extreme in their views. It's like a "with us or against us" mentality for every issue.

I like to discuss things with an open mind and listen to other people's point of view, even if I disagree, in the hope that I might learn something. I feel this way of thinking is dying out. People seem to have very extreme views on everything these days and I find it exhausting. The worst part is that the people who have an opinion on everything tend to not know what they're talking about most of the time. Surely no one feels so strongly about literally everything?

What do you all think? Are people becoming more polarized, or am I just imagining it?

    No, I think the powers that be would love you to think that, but everyone I know really just wants to be left alone to live their life.

    Politics in the U.S are definitely becoming more polarized.

    Leaders of America from many years ago had concerns about separation and polarization- saw this coming.

    However I don't think that the general populous is so extreme, but the loud minorities among us are.

    no, i honestly don't think so mostly because in my country the beliefs and views of the people are polarized everyone agrees on something whether its wrong or not and as an atheist in a society like this its nice to see people starting to say no to certain things society deems ok its refreshing to see people question things and have their own views and beliefs.
