40 is middle aged.
40 is old enough where you should of had all your shit together for the last decade if not longer. You dont need a discount.
Now if you are old like 65+ I think it's just an additional nice thing for older people. Plus it gives them something to do (my grandma loves coupon shopping + her discount)
