I don't want to die young but I don't want to lay in a hospital bed in excrutiating pain for months before I die like so many elders do. I don't want to get dementia either. If I stay reasonably healthy, yes.
When I am no longer able to care for myself I want to be put down. When you start wiping my ass and feeding me I'm done
It kinda depends on what you consider old age.
I'm 66 and live on a sailboat with my 25 year old girlfriend. So, yes at least at this point.
However, if I couldn't get around, couldn't have relations w/ my girlfriend, was going blind or senile, then no, not at all. Take some pills and I'm outa here!
It's all about the quality of life, not length.
The American dream is more of a nightmare. Work until you're too old to enjoy anything, then wait to die. Sounds great!
When i need to have help with eating, walking around, breathing and using the bathroom, then yeah kill me.
When I go from barely getting gfs to none at all it's time to catch the bus.
So many reasons to why and why I wouldn't want to live to be old. If I age to be 105 and am independent but I see my children die? What if I reach 105 but depend on other people? I would have to be guaranteed that if I make 105, I need to be independent and that might children would pass after me.
I want to be the one people will listen to my past history and be able to say there is a future for them. I may have declining health but I don't want to die unnoticed.
Yeah, so I can smack the bastard children with my cane when they play on my lawn, and they won't be able to do anyting because I'm old.
I don't know. I want to live forever, but that's out of the question.
Being old limits me, but I have not reached that age, so I can't say I would know how I feel about it.
I want to live a long life, but die looking the best I can (young), so I am remembered in my prime image.
