I think it depends on the context.
Maturity in environments where care, responsibility and intelligence are important is not overrated. For example, in a hospital.
Maturity in environments where it doesn't matter if you're silly or childish and where it can actually be a beneficial stress-reliever to let loose the inner child is probably overrated. For example, in a park.
But maturity is really a common standard of behaviour expected by society dependent on age. This can be influenced and altered, it just requires a general consensus. We often expect people to 'act their age', and our notion of how their age should act is based upon other people their age.
I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of males chose yes for their answer.

NO, maturity is needed. im not saying you have to be mature all the time, but you need to have control on you maturity or lack there of. there is a diffrence between acting immature and "being" immature
For me personally, maturity does not make me happy. So I'll say yes, maturity is over-rated as a personal attribute.
However, society needs mature people to keep it running. When I was little, I used to imagine a society run by puppies and how much fun it would be. Then I quickly realised they'd all die out pretty quickly because nobody would have a mature side :P
I think everyone needs a mature and an immature side, and I think both of those sides are good so long as you know when to use them. So I'll change my mind; I don't think maturity is over-rated, but I do think immaturity is under-rated. Immaturity is fun and I love it :)
It probably depends on the person. For some people it works, some people it doesn't.
