what if USA or some other country is actually controlled by some really powerful family, let's say a shitty young master of the family saw a girl on the streets and he really wanted to have her.
the courting fails and he proceeds to ruin her life with his family power and ended up obtaining her like a prize.

Look up Marc Dutroux from Belgium and how the cops were covering for him. Went to the house to search for kids he had hidden and said they heard kids screaming but they left anyway. Dutroux admitted he was selling kids all over Europe and it was covered up.
