Many of us say we believe in an afterlife, but whenever someone dies we act and think like that they have been wiped from existence. How many of you truly, deep down believe in life after death?

I don't think the existence of an afterlife is impossible, but I find it unlikely.
Just enjoy yourself. You can worry about the afterlife when you're dead :)
Well, let me just ask you this: by what mechanism would your consciousness continue?
See it like this we are alive now are we not then should there not be a chance for us to be alive again...
The afterlife cannot exist, people like to believe in it because they can't understand that they are alive for a short period of time and then there is nothing. The person we are is just a series of complex chemical reactions that make up our body and our personality, if we die these reactions come to an end so why would we be transported to another realm? Plants are also made up of a series of complex chemical reactions so on the basis that we are alive and they are alive do plants have an afterlife aswell?
I'm a Mormon, I believe in science, medicine, etc. Nonetheless, I believe in an afterlife but if you are spending your time trying to be a good person for the sole purpose of having a good afterlife, you need to reevaluate your priorities.
The world is not 5000 years old, it's several billion; we evolved from a common ancestor of chimpanzees, Earth is not the center of the universe. My belief in these facts lead many to assume I can't believe in an afterlife, but I do.

I grew up in society which strongly beleive in life after death but I believe Even if some afterlife exists than that part of life has no control over this part of life that exists on planet earth

It is either we reincarn into new bodies after death or we go some other place, otherwise there would be no rational explanation for ghosts and human characteristics we see in other animals (yeah) (don't contradict them, don't contradict them, they might actually kill you just to prove their mad ideas) You are right, we just don't know, we will never know! (what a creepo!) if scientists said so, then it must be so. (this guy is really starting to freak me out) you are right, we shall eat like kings! (I am getting out of here!) Well, before I was alive I was nothing, and when I die I'll become nothing again. So I've just been thinking, maybe I'll rise from nothing sometime later, and once again back be thrusted back into reality in a different form. Just my hope, really nothing to support it whatsoever.
there is no life after life. we're dead. gone. pushing up daisies. maybe our soul is in fact eternal, but our conscience isn't. i think that even if we are reborn, we are not gonna be the same. it'll be like a completely different person, but still your soul. so i think that in a way, we do disappear.
i believe science but im still not sure whats gonna happen when i die. I'm just going to wait until i die and then see what happens.
Truth is we just plain dont know, you dont i dont and we probly wont ever untill we die... But on the subject of reincarnation, the science journal reviewed the facts and algorithems on the subject and publish a proposal on it , meaning the smartes minds in the world sat down discused it and came to the conclution that there was scientific marret to reincarnation, do your home work before u decide to be a blind athiest, but as for what i think, who knows? I just know that when i go i wont be burning in any hell of any kind, when i go i will find comfort in the fact that im going where my ansistors befor me have gone and where you will all meet me at, and when were there we'll drink like heatherens and eat like kings...
