I prefer being barefoot, but some people associate that with a general lack of etiquette and poor homeless person attire, so to not offend other people's sensitive souls I'll keep shoes on sometimes.
My boyfriend has a sturdy pair of black flip-flops that he absolutely must wear when we go to the beach, jiu jitsu & when we're home. The only time he doesn't wear them inside is when he's in bed. Anywhere else, he wears actual shoes. You'll never catch him in flip-flops or sandals at the grocery store. I don't know what his aversion to being anything close to barefoot is but I, on the other hand, don't care for wearing shoes.
That goes for clothing, as well.
I'm fully dressed in public but as soon as I get home, the most I'll wear is a light, cotton sari if it's a little chilly. Otherwise, I'm au natural from head to toe.
Only when I've just come in, or am ready to go out. I prefer barefoot (both inside and outside) except for when it's too cold or impractical. Although I will walk barefoot in the snow. I kind of like it for reasons I don't know how to describe.
The shoe rule in my house is directly related to whether I just cleaned or not.
sorta crazy to wear shoes in your house unless there is something on the floor, eg: broken glass, some liquid
not at my new house. since moving to a farm, its not good to trample mud through the house. i have put a towel down at the entrance of the house for shoes. plus when i get home from work, i like to get neked so the shoes come off anyway lol
Yes. Only because now we keep our shoes inside to prevent people coming up our drive way and stealing them all of the time. And it's better that the hallways are tiled flooring so it's easy to clean the floor if the shoes do make prints on the ground. Then, other than our outing shoes, we have indoor slippers and garden boots... Yeah, each member of the family has at least three pairs of shoes.
Yes. Everything falls on the floor. Even immediately after you clean it. :(
i used to but not now except in the foyer and kitchen/dining which is tiled
