Does anyone else rub clothing seams between their fingers?

I have had a habit since I was a little boy of rubbing the seams at the bottom of my denim jeans between my index finger and the knuckle of my thumb. I can do this for hours until I wear the fabric out. I sometimes do this with pillow cases and shirt seams also.
Am I alone out there?

I am looking at holes it the end of the seams on my jeans right now. I have been doing this as long as I can recall. My mom was the only person that ever said anything about it to me. She would just say "are you nervous ? Stop rubbing!" And of course I didn't stop. I don't have a clue how to break the habit. It's not like nubby seams can be avoided. I am very discrete. It is a habit to comfort and I have no idea how it started but it's certainly Cheaper and safer than drugs or cigarettes. I love the Internet. It's nice to find others in the world with the same bizarre habit

OMG Finally!!! I'm not the only one. I do it all the time in school and I feel like I'm being judged all the time. I thought I was the only one. But yea it's the best feeling to me and I don't know why I do it. I do it when I'm nervous or trying to concentrate. Sometimes I do it to relax or just before bed. It's so weird but I have been doing it forever and I can do it for so long too. I love finding jeans that have the perfect seam and within a month there will be a whole where the seam is. Although does this mean I have some slight form of autism

I used to do that with just my fingers when slightly agitated.

It used to help me focus and take my mind off the pressure of competition. I thought for years I was the only person on earth doing this to be honest. It drives anybody close to me totally crazy

I have been told that the condition is called "stimming" and it is closely related to forms of autism. I am actually an Olympic Gold Medallist in my sport and this behaviour actually helped me concentrate throughout my career.

I Truly believed I was the only person who did this! All my life and yes, I destroy clothes! All of my jeans have signs of my rubbing on seams, pockets and belt loops. Seams on the neck of my tee shirts all show signs of my rubbing also

It's wonderful that's its become a positive rather than a negative in your life. If you don't mind my asking, how does it help you concentrate?

I think it’s a comfort thing, my Husband can tell when I’m really stressing when I’m “double bumping” )one in each hand)
