Does anyone get realy really strong emotions from edward hopper?`

(his art) Like just how empty the things are, and the shadows/light, and how lonely? I can cry looking at Sun in an Empty room. It's just like he creates these scenes that are so perfect and would exist in my perfect world.

Yeah, I think so. I don't know much about art at all, but I like realism and I think some of those pictures look very interesting. I can see how Sun in an Empty Room would give you a particularly strong reaction. Something about it is very stark.

I wish I was more informed about this type of stuff. I never know about the celebrities everyone keeps talking about.

      Do what I do.

Google them, read their Wikipedia, then pretend you knew it all along.

I initially thought I was unfamiliar with Edward Hopper's work but after Googling him I recognized his work. I would have to say the outside street and especially the store fronts in "Nighthawks" are too eerie for my taste. "Sun in an Empty room" presents an interesting study in light and shadow but doesn't do much else for me. However, "Rooms by the Sea" is a piece a really like and I could in fact see myself in such a place.

I could see how you could feel that way, it is pretty good art. I'll admit the characters he draws look lonely, but I wouldn't say that they get a strong reaction out of me.
