Does god predestine or do we have free will?

Do we disobey God, or does God set us up for failure? Is there another option? What do you think?

Whatever your definition of god is, he/it does predestine but you are free to do as you please between the start and finish points. It just doesn't affect the final outcome.

If you want to get super technical then free will is a myth, all of your thoughts and feelings are a product of chemical reactions in your brain which obey the laws of science I.e. God is telling you what to do.
but when you get into quantum physics and all that fancy stuff, there are things that are unexplainable which could be evidence of free will but most likely just things that we can't explain YET.

and I hate to say it but this shit is ironclad and none of you can come up with a better answer than that, c'mon admit it. I dare you to try. I double god dare you!

There is no god, but free will is an illusion too.

My mother believed in predestined future. Your future was all laid out for you and there was nothing we could do about it. Myself I believe in free will.

If I were God I wouldn't give free will. I'd give free beer. I'd be as popular as motherfuck. Everyone would be coming to church praying for more free beer, and I'd let that fucker flow. I'd be in there like swimwear. The masses would love me and sing my name.
But then everyone would live in labour camps and give me their firstborns to feed to aliens.

Yeah, we're living things with huge egos who feel the need to project a copy of ourselves on everything that exists in the form of "god." It's all about us being better than everything else, that's what religion is.

I doubt there is a god and free will is merely an illusion defined by humanity.

Anyway, the question whether everything is based on determinism or indeterminism remains.

Free will like a monkey in a cage we can do what ever we want, as long as it's what we are preordained to do

No need to worry either way, as there is no gawd. You can take responsibility for your life, and not blame it any more.

Aye matey! Gawd is a bastard, he is. When I were sailin' me rubber ducky 'round in me bathtub, I got me blasted peg leg stuck in the drain, me did, matey! Arr, me prayed to Gawd to get me wretched leg outta the Davy Jones o' the bathtub, but Gawd is a bastard and left me strugglin' with me leg like a wee bilge rat, he did! Me started bawlin' like a scurvy dog, with only me rubber ducky, 42 years me junior, to keep me company!

I hope yer Gawd ain't always a dirty scallywag! He left me for the bathtub sharks, matey!
