Does it work to drown maggots in a bathtub?

Below my bathroom sink smelled bad so I took everything out and found fungus and maggots on some items. I took the items with these things on them, filled up the bathtub, and drowned the maggots. Then, I unplugged the drain. It looked like most of them already drowned while some of them climbed to the sides holding on to dear life. Do y'all think they're actually dead? And will this mess up my drain? I just did the first thing that came to mind since it was a stressful moment.

    They may not be dead. If you want to make sure pour boiling water down your drain that should kill any that are still alive.

    Bleach for sure.

    But no it's not normal, as in like, most people don't have maggots in their house.... maybe figure out what's wrong with your bathroom and fix it.

    You should have put salt and them and enjoy why the salt slowly melts on their bodies and sink in.
