Nutmeg has been known to have strong physiological effects for a very long time, and some of them aren't very pleasant at all. There is such a thing as nutmeg poisoning, although it's not very common. It's possible that you are particularly sensitive or that you've developed a sensitivity.

Simple way to find out if nutmeg is causing the headaches: stop using it and see how you feel.

Just take antihistamines such as diphenhydramine, doxylamine, or chlorpheniramine.

Get some Valerian root, and Melatonin to help you sleep instead of the nutmeg.

Also, you should try taking some herbal tea as well.

Bedtime Tea, by Yogi tea is wonderful, and works like a charm to help me sleep. Another great tea for when you are stressed out, or want to relax is Tension Tamer by Celestial Seasonings.

Nutmeg intoxication is a thing and headaches are one of a few side effects. You should probably limit the amount of nutmeg you eat for about a week and see if that helps, if it does then it's the nutmeg if it doesn't then it's something else. Also if you are taking any anti-anxiety medications then you should stop eating nutmeg as much as possible and talk to a doctor since it can have negative effects when combined with the medication.

no, I am not taking any medications just I read somewhere on Ayurveda site that nutmeg powder helps to sleep you better and yes it is helping but I am going through the headache problem as I am a professional working person so if I don't get a night of sleep then it affects my work. is there any other solution is available for sleep rather than nutmeg???

It may not be the nutmeg and it really depends on how much you are taking. There are other things that may help with sleep though. There isn't much actual scientific studies on natural sleep aids so it can be kind of hit or miss when it comes to that. That being said, magnesium is supposedly pretty good at relaxing the body and giving a better quality of sleep. Melatonin is something that may also help you go to sleep. Also drinking certain types of tea especially chamomile tea may help.

Do some googling: I'm not going to do it for you because you could've done that before asking the question here. However, I will say I have a feeling it could raise blood pressure, and that could explain the headaches. If I'm wrong and it lowers bp, that also can cause headaches.

Boojum's last sentence is the obvious way to find out.
