I'm wondering: does watching gay porn have any effect on one's persuasion? Can it be considered as some kind of "brain washing"?

To set things straight: I've got nothing against homosexuals. But I am not one myself. I'm a girl, and completely and utterly interested in men. Guys, boys...you name it. That's why I've found myself drawn to yaoi fanfics, man-on-man porn and other perverted things involving gay men.

I didn't have any troubles with this. Untill I started communicating a bit more with other girls who had similar interests... I've found that a high portion of self proclaimed yaoi fangirls is bisexual or gay. And now I'm getting scared...

Is gay porn safe for my sanity? Or does it make people who watch it gay? Please, I'd like to hear any personal stories..because I'm somewhat at a loss here... Sometimes I think the only way to stay straight is to stop reading slash fics. But I like those stories so much! I don't want to stop reading them... Do I really have to?

    Lots of guys like lesbian porn and it doesn't make them gay, so I very much doubt women who like gay porn would be "made" gay either.

    I think a lot of women who are willing to admit the sort of porn they like are also the sort of women who are more likely to be open about their sexuality if they are bi or gay, which would account for more openly bi or lesbian women who enjoy gay men porn. I also think people who are into more "alternative" types of porn are more likely to want to explore their sexualities, so might be more likely to have always been bi.

    I don't think what sort of porn you watch can switch your sexuality, but I do think it can make you more aware of desires that were always there but under the surface. If you're absolutely certain you only find men attractive, I doubt any sort of porn would change your mind on that.

    There are so many damn things wrong with this, like, I am literally lost at words right now.     First thing: You do not become gay from watching gay porn. You're sexuality does not change at all because of any porn. You are either gay or you are not. What you are saying is like saying that because someone sees a video of someone having sex with a dog that would suddenly turn them to beastiality. No! You do not turn gay from watching gay porn.

    Second: How popular is lesbian sex in pornagraphy? How commonly do you see girl on girl action in porn? This will probably be a big wower to you, but the number one people watching girl on girl porn are men. Whaaaaat? Yes. They are men. Now this is really gonna blow your socks off so brace yourself. Ready? A majority of these men are...heterosexual. Yes. I know it is unbelievable, but a lot of straight men enjoy watching girl on girl action. How many of these men suddenly become gay from watching it. If you have even a cent of a brain cell in your head (which I don't think you do) I want you to think about this just for one moment and see how much sense it makes to you.

    I'm a girl. I think guy on guy action is hot. I am not now, I have never been, and nor do I think I will ever be gay or bisexual, and I'm sure a hell of a lot of women would say the same thing. So to answer your question, no, you do not turn gay just for being into gay porn especially if it's gay porn of the opposite gender. For fuck's sake!       Okay, sorry you didn't fully understand me. Let me rephrase myself: I'm worried thinking too much about yaoi might have (some little) effect on my persuasion.

      There are in fact several (viable) reasons for this. Watching gay porn encouraged me to think in a different way. Now I can't stand heterosexual porn anymore, because it always feels to me like the man is dominating.

      Watching gay porn allows me to identify with a man. To 'penetrate' another man. And that got me worried, because recently I have been thinking about penetrating some guys I know in real life. Yes, I know it's 'not a big deal' in current society: it's called 'pegging'... But still, it feels like I can't stand basic male-female dynamics anymore. I'm appalled by thinking about a guy 'taking' me...

      That doesn't sound right to me...it sounds too dominant for a girl.

        You're are only gay (a lesbian) if you are attracted to other females. That's it. Being dominant has nothing to do with whether you are intested in males or females. I'm dominant and so are many other females. It's even are rare thing. It's just most women are willing to discuss their sexuality, but dominant females are not at all a rare thing. Some people are dominant while others are not, male or female. You are only homosexual or bisexual by being attracted to the same sex.

    If anything, I've always thought that straight porn wasn't really all that straight, because you're getting off on watching someone of the same sex get off with someone else.         I'm not sure, really, I've never had to deal with something like that. Maybe you could take a break, maybe you could watch something else equally as interesting to you as yaoi...but if you think that's impossible for you, maybe it is futile. Haha.
