Dog at a party

I´m throwing a party to celebrate mine and my boyfriend´s new apartment, our first one we live in together.

One of my friends asked me if she could bring her dog with her that she recently took home to rehabilitate.
This is a small mixed breed that´s NOT aggressive, unless you pet him without him knowing you.

My friend, let´s call her 1 wrote in the event to inform everyone to NOT touch the dog, and if they did she wouldn´t take responsibility for their actions.

friend 2 replies to the post in an aggressive manner and proclaims loudly that she cant help it if she accidently pets the dog when she´s drunk and happy.

She then Changes it to stumble towards the dog and then she´s suddenly afraid of it.

My boyfriend steps in, tells friend 2 to back off, that friend 1 got permission from the hosts to bring her dog and that friend 2 have nothing to say in the matter.

Friend 2 tells my boyfriend he´s stupid and shouldn´t get involved.

After this discussion I let one day pass, i meet up with friend 2 together with a Mutual friend and we barely talk and whenver I mention my boyfriend she gets all mopey.

So i text her, telling her I feel she was rude and disrespectful and she should stay home because her coming would ruin the party.

She acts like a victim and tries to blame Everything on me.

Now, I do understand that not everyone is comfortable with dogs, but regardless of the dog you should NEVER pet a dog you don´t know.

Friend 2 has also on EVERY damn party during our 5 year long friendship gotten drunk and groped other females and blaming it on alcohol. So I Think this ruined her expectation of the party.

I agree. Keep the mutt at home. If something bad goes down at your party the host is responsible so if the mutt bites someone the host is at fault for allowing the mutt to the party. It's the same if someone gets loaded and kills someone going home the host is partly responsible for not cutting the person off before they got chroniced. It's the same at bars. The bar would be held partly responsible for not cutting the person off.

In Canada a server must have a Smart Serve Certificate to be allowed to serve alcohol at a bar.

Probably the sort of person that believes dogs are little people in furry coats.

That´s why you live in Sweden! if friend 1´s dog does anything it´s JUST on her. But if someone breaks the set rules for the dog and they get bitten? Fuck them seriously.

Depends. Sometimes that happens but in general the Laws in Sweden are pretty soft. too fucking soft. Another friend told me about a neighbour who has their pitbulls running loose and who attacks smaller dogs.
          Authorities doesn´t do shit.

My boyfriend´s sister got bit in the ass by a dog and nothing has happened to that dog although it was an unprovoked attack.

I wouldn't want to be around a potentially dangerous dog myself.
That said this is YOUR apartment, your house your rules, friend 2 can go fuck themselves.

Are you not supposed to pat dogs that you don't know? Shit I always do...only when they come up to me and do stuff to my crotch (at that point I figure anything goes).

Anyway, personally I think it's a dumb idea to bring a dog to a party. Especially one that places demands on every guest. BUT, that's your call. So if that's what you want, friend 2 should accept that and stay home.

Hahaha, friend one told me in advance she´d of course not drink and that she´d leave when the felt that it got too much for the dog. I trust her completely

I think you and your boyfriend should forget about the party, and get a new apartment about three states away from your current friends.

Friend #1's doggy stays at home. If there are going to a lot of guests + a strange environment + alcohol. I'd imagine the dog would hate it.

Friend #2 can't handle their booze & morphs into a sex pest, no golden ticket for them either.

If people do not like your decisions explain your reasons, if they still aren't happy, they will get over it. It's a party to celebrate the beginning of you & your boyfriend's new life together, not an exercise in keeping friends & acquaintances sweet.

There´ll be about 8 people I Think, In a big apartment. The bedroom will be the dog´s Place when they feel like it´s too much, (I have a dog as well who´ll be there)

I have absolutely nothing against friend 1, she´s the best friend i´ve ever had.

If someone has a dog that bites strangers it doesn't belong at a party.

I do understand everyones piont of view. I would say leave the dog at home next time. Allowing the dog to come is your call, and its good she asked permission. However you cant really blame a drunk person for what they do becuase drunks are stupid. Also your freind should not ask to bring the dog if it has that type of temperament.

You don't bring a dangerous or unpredictable dog to a party.
    How hard is that?

I Think i cut ties completely with 2. She got extremely aggressive, then switched to sad and then she felt sorry for me and assumed I had problems I took out on her. Me and 2 used to be best friends. But lately she´s turned into a cunt.

Friend 1 has taken care of dogs Before, I trust her completely with dogs. She already decided to leave when/if people got too drunk.
According to her the dog does NOT bite if someone´s foot brushes it but it does not want to be pet and touched by strangers, me and 1 both prefer dogs over people and I want my friends to at least accept the rules I´ve set in my own home.

2 Said she needed to Think about remaining friends with me, I thanked her for making it easy for me and told her that fi she´s going to keep acting like an entitled prick who refuses to acknowledge her own fault in problems I can´t deal anymore

I personally think a nippy, little dog at a party is a liability, and a sloppy drunk is a pain in the ass.

I went to a new doctor yesterday, and she seemed to think that I have a non-addictive personality or least an unusually easy time when I quit smoking so although I understand substance abuse in a technical sense I can't really relate to people who are totally outta control with their substance abuse all the time.

    Bitches be triflin.

I Think that the FIRST time you get out of Control with alcohol, it´s fine to blame it on the alcohol. But if you KNOW what you behave like during the intoxication ...don´t do it again.

She´s repeatedly groped people and said "I CANT CONTROL MY HAAAANDS"
