Donald trump endorsed by vladimir putin

A few days ago, I read in the news that Russian president Vladimir Putin has endorsed Donald Trump's presidential campaign, having many words of praise for him. For me, this raises a very large red flag. I could be the victim of years of propaganda against Putin, but I have always heard that he is a very harsh and somewhat tyrannical leader, and he's not someone I would really want to find qualities he likes in a presidential candidate, but that's just me. So, I would like to know if anyone else is concerned about this, and why they are or aren't.

It's not surprising that Putin would support Trump. They might both be tyrants, but with a united front they would eliminate the troublemakers in the middle east.

"The two men share a love for spectacle and an appreciation of its ability to move low-information voters,"
Putin is indeed a tyrant. Ask anyone who has opposed him in any way, including a few silly girls he had imprisoned.
On March 3, 2012, two of the Pusst Riot group members, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, were arrested and charged with hooliganism. A third member, Yekaterina Samutsevich, was arrested on March 16. Denied bail, they were held in custody until their trial began in late July. On August 17, 2012, the three members were convicted of "hooliganism motivated by religious hatred", and each was sentenced to two years imprisonment.
All for what was no more that a skit performed as a protest for the church's support of Putin.

You're well informed sailor. I'd forgotten about Pussy Riot, and it shows the type of despot Putin is and that his endorsement should be taken as a disqualifier.
