Dreading my mom getting older

My mothers side of the family doesn't exactly have the best health genetics and none of them have lived to be over 55. Im scared for my mom she's 42 a little overweight with high blood pressure. She's my mother and my favorite parent. I love her and it brings me to tears to think of her dieing. Is it normal?

  • You should tell her how you feel. Perhaps it would inspire her to embrace a healthier lifestyle so that she might live longer.

    You're fine.

NOT caring about your parents would be abnormal

    Go give Mummy a cuddle.

What you are feeling is 1000% normal. You clearly care about mummy deeply.

If my kid told me he was worried about my health, I would want a good cry and cuddle, talk about it, thank him later. :)

Yes. my mom was very sickly as a child and her mother died from liver cancer when she was 19. same age as me right now. I can't bear the thought of living without her.

As a kid I used to always cry about the idea of my parents dying. Of course it is normal to dread the inevitable loss. If you gain anything from this make it the motivation to see her plenty, keep the relationship strong and create more fond memories to recollect.

Enjoy the time you have with everyone you love.
