Dreams of deceased family

Is it normal when a close relative dies and you have dreams of them. Now in the dream as far as you are concerned they are dead, but then they come up and tap you on the shoulder and say hello, but then you wake up? It took me a couple of weeks before I could turn any lights off and that was before the dream.

    i dream about my dad but really not anymore often than when he was alive. i just forget he's dead that all.

    That never happened to me with a family member (as nobody really close to me has died) but it did happen to me with my cat. After he died I got dreams about him basically every week and sometimes more than once in every week. These dreams all stopped once I got a new kitten though.

    After my mum died I had 2 dreams about her
    First was I could see her in the window of a house but I couldn't get to her .. totally screwed me up
    Second was a week later, I just remember her coming into the garden and holding me as I cried .. then I woke up straight away, I'll never forget it ..
    I figure it was her saying goodbye .. I hope you get the chance to do the same
