Drinking with children

Totally normal for a dad to take his children to the local ice cream & soda fountain (what they were called in my youth) and enjoying malts, shakes, or slushies together. My parents used to do that with us (and sometimes Ice Cream cones or Sundays).

In certain cultures the children are introduced to wine or beer at a young age as part of a meal. There is rarely any drinking of alcohol separate from the meal. Totally normal.

Alcohol no.
Any other normal drinks, always yes.

Our culture women rarely drink. Majority of men do drink. Sons, yes. But it's a self discipline that we manage, we never let our parents know we do booze. Parents don't let kids to know they do the same. But they know us do it and we know they do it.
As a teenager or an adult we don't go home or meet our parents after intoxicated. That's again a self discipline we carry.
And never felt any weirdness when drinking anything no alcoholic beverages with them. My dad used to take me every Saturday out to have snacks and finally chocolate shakes.

In germany that's actually normal. Kids are allowed to drink beer ans even smoke cigarettes. So I highly suggest you go to there.

I don't remember a time when I was not allowed to drink a little wine as a child.
