Earthquake sensation when falling asleep

Ok so for about a few years now this thing will occasionally happen where ill fall half asleep and it will start to feel like an earthquake. It usually lasts around 10 - 20 seconds. It starts out as a light shaking and progressively gets worse until it feels like a terrible extreme earthquake and as I come out of it it gets less bad. This has become more and more frequent over the years like when it first started it happened around 3 times a year now it happens about every other night. Also like right after the shaking stops I wont be able to move for about 5 seconds. Even though nothing physically painful happens to me it is still very scary. Just a couple minutes ago this thing happened at the end of one of the tremors that hasn't happened before. The vein in the right side of my neck started twitching violently it was very scary. Someone please give an explanation.

Look into a relatively new idea called SEEKING MEDICAL ADVICE. It's a 20th century thing.

I'm only 15 so I can't really do that and the reason I don't want to tell my parents is because there all religious and they're gonna be like " oh it's demons"

Well that essentially bumps you out of the having to be 18 to sign up for this site rule.

There are medical privacy laws. You might want to look into what the limitations are and then go seek professional help.

Just because you are 15 doesn't mean you can't seek medical advice. Why do your parents even have to know what the issue is? Can't you just say its a personal or private thing and they send you?

Whatever it is, you should seek medical advice by whatever means you can. Maybe there are free and confidential services provided where you live?

A couple years ago I was practising OOBE. What you described happens often when your body falls asleep before your mind does. I could feel something very similar just as my body was falling asleep but I kept my mind awake on purpose. Some people's minds fall asleep slower, some minds wake up before the body does... The last one causes you to hallucinate and feel the dream paralysis. You can find a lot of information about different sensations during falling asleep on various sites and forums about lucid dreaming and OOBE.

Yep, a variation of sleep paralysis. For years when I was younger, right on the cusp of sleep, it would feel like someone had grabbed my head and violently yanked it into the pillow.

Adrenaline would be released and sleep would take hours to drift off into some nights.

It eventually went away on its own. Best of luck.

I was awakened by a tremendous earthquake and though I hadn't ever before enjoyed a storm of this sort, the strange thrilling motion could not be mistaken, and I ran out of my cabin, both glad and frightened, shouting, "A noble earthquake! A noble earthquake" feeling sure I was going to learn something.

You might be having a form of closed-eye hallucinations, which can sometimes make you feel like you're being thrown back and forth inside your head (hard to explain, but like it feels like you're moving or being shaken). I get it almost nightly - and I've had it all my life. Not sure about the vein thing though - if it's giving you pain, speak to a professional.

Maybe is something with your inner ear, my guess would be to look for an otorhinus

Sounds like a seizure. Have you ever been tested for epilepsy?

If you'd stop putting quarters in the vibrating bed when you want to sleep, I think you'll find the shaking will stop.

I used to love those vibrating beds back in the day. I wish you could buy them for your house

Yeah, if you were drunk enough and in California, you could easily confuse the motion with that of an earthquake.
