It's easier to tell the truth, and I also get off on not lying, because it makes me feel like I'm a good person even though I know I have my flaws just like anyone else.
I would say it depends, but generally it's much easier for me to tell the truth because I hate lying, am not a great liar most of the time anyway, and feel awkward about it. However, sometimes in the case of white lying it is easier since telling the truth could really be awkward or really hurt someone. I try to be honest wherever possible, though.
A lot of people believe that it's easier to lie.
Yet, when you look at people who have become real successes in life they are all extremely truthful, as its a core requirement for true long term success.
Yes, some lairs get short term financial gain from their lies. It always seems to catch up with them at some point... and then they are broke after that.
I don't do it, but I kinda want to record conversations with with people who are habitual liars in order to expose them at a later time if necessary.
I LOVE it whenever people are caught on a recording either lying, stealing, and or cheating. I just love it when people get exposed like that!
Young me? Lying was easier. Did so much of it. Mainly out of embarrassment, shame, peer pressure etc. Occasionally to get my way too. Poorly developed conscience
Adult me? Truth. Hyperactive conscience. Truth comes out way easier now. Almost to a naive degree. No tact about it. No idea why. Need to shut up more often
I’m a terrible liar. I get caught every time I try. My wife, on the other hand, is a master equivocator.
Generally, it would be easier to lie. But I try to never do that. It's not a good way to live.
