Emery boards make my skin crawl

I really, really, REALLY hate the texture of them. Whenever I see someone filing their nails with one, I picture them picking up the emery board afterwards and using it to brush their teeth with it and words cannot describe just how badly I cringe at that thought. It makes my skin crawl. I'm a guy, BTW.

    I hate the feel of touching any metal that is rusty.

    I don't know about imagining someone brushing their teeth with it because I don't do that, but I can't pick one up to file my nails without cringing at the thought, and if I finally get tired of my nails looking the way they do because they need filing then I will cringe the entire time I file them. I can't stand it. I think about nails on a chalkboard every time.

    Dunno if it's normal or not, but my late ex-husband used to go off his nut if I filed my finger or toe nails anywhere close enough for him to hear it.

    How on earth do you cope with your own fingernails' rough edges and those annoying bits on toenails that catch in your socks/stockings and your bedsheets?
