Emotional meltdowns before college?

Im not an overall emotional type of girl. Even if I do feel any type of way i'm not likely to show it ever. But lately I feel like I been a reck, I been crying over like things I normally wouldn't cry about and definitely expressing my feelings more to my family and friends randomly about how much they mean to be. It may sound pretty normal to most but to a girl who isn't out right emotional expressive, could it be my arising emotions before I leave off to college? Is it normal to act like this before you leave off college?

Hell yea it's normal . Your taking a huge leap into your adult life and shutting that door on your childhood . Change either for good or bad is hard - we all handle it in our own way . Just as you'r sorting thru your stuff in your room for what to take , what to toss and what to store away , your brain is doing that to with all the emotional stuff and it sounds like you just are getting over loaded from it . It will probably be good for you in the long run if it turns out you deal with some things you need to and tie off some emotional loose ends in your life and let the ppl in your life know how you really feel about them before you go off to start on the next stage of your life.

Sure, you're overwhelmed right now. At least thats what it sounds like. Speak with a professional about it if you have to.

College could be a very emotional experience especially if you go to one out of town or if you never had to deal with moving before. It really might be the last time you see some of your friends.

It's more likely during your first year. It can be a real wrench for some (including me).

Very normal, I was really anxious and nervous when I first moved out of the house for first year of university (though not to the point of emotional meltdown). It's a huge change and at some point or another it tends to hit you. Hell, I'm moving out of the house for the second time and I'm still anxious as hell.

I'm in my final year and lately I've been feeling overwhelmed I've been doing well but I fear I'll fail with only 2 semesters to go it's all in the mind I guess. I opted to go to a college in my city so I live at home. I can only imagine what you're going through and it's normal it'll pass . stay strong.

I never thought anything of moving away to university. You will have a great time though, I'm about to finish my 4th year and it has been great, I don't want to leave.

Going off you university, I was ecstatic! It really is incredibly fun living in your own place. I'm going into my second year now and the novelty still hasn't worn off!
As for you, it may seem a big change now, but after a while you realise life is basically the same, but with plenty more benefits!
