Im an american and proud of it but I have always had a thing for English girls its just something about them I dont know if its the accent or just the thought of them. Is this normal, and do girls in England hate american men? Would I ever have a chance with one if I traveled there?

I'm english. And may I say (with a few exceptions) our teeth are squeeky clean. Proabably helped by free dental care up 'til the age of 16...

Thoughtful, decent people aren't hung up on nationality. They're attracted to people for their personal qualities and don't think "he/she grew up in the same village as me" is somehow a basis for any meaningful friendship.

We have only been around for 233 years, and we are just as advanced as you are, and we have access to the same information as you do.
If my cousin is able to grow up in an American town in Germany, and come visit Texas without any detection that he's not from around here, I think we successfully established a distinct culture, which is a lot harder to shake than the British accent (...and tea)

Be happy that there are other nations speaking English in this world. You're right it's not the Queen's English. It's called "Standard American English". We can still understand one another and we can express the exact same ideas, despite a few spelling, and vocabulary differences. In 2,000 years from now, English may very well be a dead language. However I don't think that's possible at this point, but at any rate, I think we all should be aware that this can happen someday.

I didn't take the time to read other comments and you wrote this around 2 years ago but here goes: I feel you my friend. I FCKING love english women... it's all to do with the accent and the way they carry themselves. I just feel as though they are more propper and it turns me on like CRAZY. I'm Canadian though, so I probably have a better shot :) . I'm planning on visiting the UK soon and planning on living there in the future so I'll report back with the findings :)

In general, the free spirited nature and confidence of Americans is admired across the pond. So yeah, as long as you don't have any crippling character flaws you should be plenty appealing.
I'm an English girl. I think if you came here they would like you as you would be quite a novelty. But it's not just about where you are from, if you are dumb and ugly they wont like you for that - wouldn't matter where you were from.
