Eu takes advantage of usa

So the EU and USA have almost the same GDP. The USA has sent 53 billion dollars to Ukraine. The EU has sent a wopping 1 billion euros to Ukraine. Not only that the USA has stopped buying any Russian oil. While the EU still buys Russian oil, gas, and food. They're even about to start trading it in rubles. How is it fair the USA is always the ones that get screwed to help someone else. Whether its on trade or its in a conflict. Ukraine not falling to Russia is far more important to the EU, they should be paying up and not depending on the US to come save the day for them. America is always the ones that have to take a hit to our economy to prop up everyone else.

    There's a ton of posturing going on. I don't know if I'd call it the EU taking advantage of the US, or the US taking advantage of the EU. The US hates Russia, so we're doing this just to indirectly attack Russia. It doesn't have anything to do with helping Europe or "defending democracy", we just want to weaken Russia, no matter what.

    That's what I think is going on.

      Russia is more of a threat to Europe than the US. That was the whole point of Nato to protect Europe from Russia. However Nato countries have been known to just not pay their membership and they will not even buy American. We tax their cars at 2% they tax our cars at 10%. We are Natos little piggy bank. We send foreign aid everywhere and they dont. If Russia invades Nato we will be drug into another world war because Europe cant never get along.

    Most of the money will be laundered back to US politicians' (and their offsprings') bank accounts.

      I mean how else are you going to fight a superpower that hates you? Cant just go off to war willy nilly now a days. Proxy wars acomplish less but can be extremely taxing on those who lose.

      Afganistan would have been even more of a disaster if we lost more than 10,000 people in 20 years.

      Cant imagine what it must feel like for russian leaders to have a meat grinder of a failure, while trying to look like a modern military to be feared. Russia now looks like a petty North Korea.

    I dont care about what the EU does. End of the day? We could take them in a fight. They could pay more for NATO, we just need trump back in power to threaten leaving.

    NATO is still important. I perfer if we keep our bases in the eu, tactically it's still important. If we get into another world war it will be nice to have a couple dozen allies to help.

      I don't think there will ever be another global hot war again it would be mutually assured destruction. The next world war will probably be fought with tariffs, embargoes, and cyber attacks.

        But allies still apply to that as well. Being aligned at least to who is an isnt your ally. Being militarily bound is good non the less as it shows that you are willing to spend the most vital commodity around, blood.

          I guess it would be helpful to have allies that trade would still be assured with and would let us have bases on their land to give us a tactical advantage. But there needs to be some way to assure countries pay thier fair share America is paying too much.

            I mean by pay their fair share they are paying for it in the sense that they are the closest geographical target for aggression and frequent migrant floods.

            Sure they can DO more in the way of monetary funds of course but they are pretty much the first line of defense if things go super south in russia. Dont forget that russian state TV gave hypotheticals for striking the usa, but the UK and other EU countries were also included. It takes 20 minutes for an ICBM to get to our territory, the uk is like 4 minutes. To strike us you need super long ranged missiles, while most of Europe is in intermediate range.

            If putin wasnt being a royal asshole we would of been talking about possibly disolving nato in a decade or two. Besides NATO that's the only real point of contention between the us and europe.

              That is a reason why I think our military budget still isn't high enough we need to be able to afford to make technology to shoot down missiles as quickly and accurately as possible and we need to be able to afford to put them everywhere. America needs to cut down spending on everything possible so we can focus on developing technology and medicine and become the most technologically and medically advanced country in the world.

    NATO has proven you can't rely on other countries. If the US was ever attacked I doubt NATO would even lift a finger. America does not need NATO we have the biggest and strongest military in the world we can defend ourselves. We are paying so much for a service we don't need.

    what i wanna know is when did anyone ever give up and say fuck it because their home and home city got bombed?

    seems strongman billybadass despots always wanna have some over the top destructive display in order to 'send a message' and it always just pisses people off to the point where if the didnt give a fuck before theyll fight to the death afterwards
