Every nail salon makes me bleed?

I’ve gotten my nails done at tons of salons around where I live. Everytime I go though, they buff my cuticles out or nick me and I bleed. It burns like a mother. Is this just normal? Because I’ve yet to find a single salon that hasn’t at one point made me bleed.

Also before anyone asks I haven’t been getting my nails done until recently, so I genuinely don’t know if it’s supposed to be uncomfortable or not

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I always get acrylics done and usually the experience is okay but this last time the tech went nuts with the file and my fingers hurt for three days after.

I do not know HOW I didn't end up bleeding.

High quality nail salons do not injure their clients, without permission.

They may explain that due to long term lack of proper care (which they will assist you with) that they need to do some trimming that may produce a minor injury so that things grow right. Then you can choose.

These people are usually very good - and they have the appropriate first aid supplies on hand.

Once your nails are growing properly they will not need to produce an injury.

I wish you well with this,

  • Go to a real salon if you have to get your nails done. Not some cheap crap.

I never went to a nail salon (so not sure how it works), and despite that my nails are practically perfect except they're short if that counts as a flaw. It's possible this is a health problem that makes your nails bleed and get injured easier. Otherwise just ask them to not do that procedure. If your nails are particularly ugly its often a sign of a health problem and going to a nail saloon will not help with that, you may need to go to an actual doctor or at least change something about your lifestyle/diet.

Yes my nails always look pale or yellow so I started getting them done but the skin is so thin
