Excruciating pain in stomach

It only ever happens after I have a shower, my lower stomach starts to hurt and the pain becomes so unbearable I'm rolling around the bed in pain and forcing my mouth shut because otherwise I would be screaming due to how much it hurts. It feels like a cramp or like a muscle strain or something idk, but the pain eventually subsides after 10 to 30 mins.

I don't get them all the time, it's actually pretty uncommon but I've had this pain through all my life and it's only after I get out of the shower. (it doesn't happen always though so usually I'm fine after a shower)

I've never really told anyone because I'm kind of embarrassed and people might think I'm overreacting, plus it isn't that bad it only comes sometimes.

I'm a 18 year old girl btw

That's not normal - see your doctor about it

    Stop showering?

  • Cramps very commonly follow fast temperature change, like getting out of a hot shower into a cool or room temperature bathroom. Showers mess people up in a lot of ways, I used to black out after getting out of a steaming shower and my roommate found me quite a few times, I understand the embarrassment lol

Definitely make sure you're drinking enough water, maybe try letting the shower run warm at the last two-three minutes of a shower instead of steaming hot, or stand in the shower for a few minutes after you turn off the hot water and let the steam ease away. /BUT/ always best to ask your doctor about anything health related, people online can only offer some guesses and tips.

I think you should see a doctor. No pain occurs without a reason even if its not that common
