Experiences of paying for (serious) dating apps please

I decided to buy a membership on a serious dating app to avoid people looking for hookups, i'm not even much for sex. So I sign up and buy a membership and nothing works. It says I need to change my password so I request a new one multiple times to no avail. I get confirmation e-mail etc but no password link so I cant even access the account. Then I look around and many people has been tricked by dating websites that keep charging you no matter what you do. Not very nice. I send an email to the site and next day they seem to have cancelled my purchase so I email them again. I get a reply that they sorted my profile as a fake profile and that they apologize and I should be able to log in now. Why would they do that for?? So I can finally log in and there it says I have no membership so I log into my bank which is not very clear on wether the money I payed has been charged or not. Now i'm very hesitant towards buying the membership again. Plus when I emailed the apps support about this they didnt even know if they've repayed the money to me and told me to check this with my bank.
I am starting to think apps like Tinder are better after all. I'm not even sure how serious I am to be honest, I just don't want to meet a douche but I also don't want to meet someone who's desperate for marriage..
I also found reviews by men complaining of bots, as usual but still, and I dont know if that means there's somehow even more bots on serious websites. I've never come across male bots on any dating app so I guess thats because there's less women online for some reason than men, but since the site itself for some reason already considered me a bot before I could even start using the site... Maybe that's a bad sign. What's your experiences?

I've never had a paid version of any but I used some of them 5-6 years ago when they came out and I was single. On Tinder I had the most hilarious experiences and dates of my life, but I also found one guy I'd see every so often for a couple of years, so not a proper relationship. It really is just a hookup app.

I liked Happn better. I only actually went out with one guy I met there and we saw each other for about 3 months, but he wasn't funny at all and although I'm a retard who'll laugh at anything I still had to keep making myself laugh, so it didn't work out. The others from there I texted with were pretty cool guys.

Another one I used that was different is tastebuds, matching done by musical preferences and you can pick if you want serious relationship, hookup, just friends, etc. It's just bad at pairing within the location/distance range you set - met a guy from Paris on there. Haha

Mind you that I used those in Brazil but I think it's pretty similar worldwide. I don't know which site you are using but it sounds super sketchy.

It would be slightly entertaining to make a troll account on one of those apps to just fuck with people

Tinder plus is good. Just makes the net bigger for more catches.

Ive never did online dating i been married before it came out. But I have noticed the best way to get girls is through other guy friends. One of your friends will have a girlfriend and she will have friends and yall all go out to a bar somewhere and get to know eachother. Or see if your friend knows a friend who has a girlfriend who has a friend. Jist ask ppl where the hoes at

    • I'm a straight woman, but yeah. If you're a social person and have friends who aren't introverts that probably works.

Alcohol helps if you're an introvert
