Extremely religious and spiritual at my age

I'm 22 and I'm a lot religious and spiritual compared to people and friends of my age. I pray, meditate for hours, workout, and read about spiritual stuffs & finding the right path for spirituality nearly everyday. At my age, I should be figuring out to get more degree or master & how to make more money/business for better living and creating partners relations for work. I'm not interested in any of those stuffs material, money, clubs and alcohol, outgoing and having a lot of friends like majority of people at my age i know, love so much. Instead I like to have only a few friends and keep in touch with my beloved gf and family and play games or watch documentary I like. I try to be kind and avoid killing animals and insects(except cockroach & bed bugs).

Is my brain functioning normal?

Your brain is fine, according to my brain-o-meter.

You sound like a kind, peaceful heart. People like this are wonderful for creating a lasting harmony in the world. I hope things go well for you, good luck.

Being a bit presumptuous there. Don't you think? He didn't say what religion he subscribed to or what church. Nothing he said there is indicative of not being part of the Westboro Baptist Church.

The way they said they avoid killing most insects, and that they describe family as 'beloved' makes me think they are fairly nice. You could be right though.

I'm sure people from the aforementioned church love their famlies too. They also believe they are doing people a kindness with their "God hates fags" protests. They are warning you of God's position with regard to homosexuality. They're creating awareness to save your soul.

Feel free to disregard my post. It was mostly in jest.

Thanks all, for your replies good and bad.

I'm a Buddhist not a Christian, sorry that I didn't include it inside and made things more complicated for you all.

Religion is mass delusion, so to my mind, your brain isn't "functioning normal", sorry.

But if you're so into religion, have you thought of opening a church? If you really believe in this stuff, you wouldn't have any moral qualms about taking people's donations.

There's one local church that's run by a single guy that I looked up in the past and he's making about $60,000-$80,000/year, which is pretty good for my area. And I don't think he even has a proper church building; just his house.

You don't even need a degree (unless it's a requirement for the license in your area). You already sound like you should know a a lot about your religion. So just read a ton of books on oratorship and how to make moving speeches.

You don't even need to start with own church right away. Check out local churches and see whether you could do sermons, either for free (to get experience) or for payment. Save the money to open your own church.

So that's the plan you could look into. As for not being into the clubbing/partying thing, don't even worry about it. It's perfectly normal.

Perhaps you should join the clergy, or whatever it's called for your religion. You sound so brainwashed, it's hard to imagine you having a satisfying life in any other profession.
I feel so very sorry for you, for all the wonderful experiences you will never have in life, if you continue down this path. And the saddest thing is when you lose your faith, as so many do, and you awake to realize that you have wasted your life with the religious bull shit.
I wish you luck and all the best, but I have little faith that you are on the right path.
