Favorite years or decade (even if it was before your time)?

If had to pick your favorite “decade” or perhaps a “time in history” what would you say is your favorite decade and why? Even if it was before you were born or even existed on your birthday?

Mine would maybe be the 90s. I think 90s is when people in my opinion started getting more smart and knowledgeable than people in the 50s/60s/70s”. Like with smartphones and internet and being able to pretty much do things through technology nowadays?

What’s your take? Your favorite decade or time period?

70s 2
90s 7
1950s 3
2020s-2023 present day 0
1900 or Way before that 2
60s 0
80s 3
1930s 1
2000s 5
1920s 1
1940s 0
2010s 1

Meh, they all have their good times and bad. I did love the 90s because I was 10 to 20 during those years, but I miss parts of the 80s that I remember. I was too young for the cocaine fueled industry to realize it. The 60s and 70s would have been hella fun. Earlier than that I believe I would have been standing up for human rights, like black and gay stuff, women's rights before that. I know what I mean so don't question me. I've been in a speakeasy all night, shoo.

I hate the present day because of all the black and gay stuff, and I'm 26.

90s because that was the last decade before everything went to shit imo. Before everyone was glued to a phone and actually lived in the moment and spoke to each other. People could make a regular income and have a normal living.

There was a video inside a store in the late 90s, and a guy was buying some video games. A comment that struck me was "Remember the feeling of a buying a game and not knowing what to expect? You have to play it yourself and find out, and how exciting that was" and that's so true about so many things. The internet is great but it's completely prohibited us from getting joy out of anything for ourselves -- movie and tv spoilers, gameplays, reviews of everything from a movie to a new Starbucks drink. There's never any newfound joy in finding out something for ourselves anymore because we almost always run into other people's opinions first via the internet. I miss that.

Yeah I remember in 1999, being 16 and travelling through Ireland and visiting a little cavernous record store in Dublin, and coming across a nirvana album full of rarities and b sides and paying something ridiculous for it, like 33 pounds.
But it was worth every cent, it was a find, an album of songs myself and my friends had never heard and did not have any access to prior. It was just magic. I brought that home and it was such a holy and revered physical item. Nothing really holds that kinda mysticism or value anymore.

The 90s were great. My grandaddy had a ranch with horses and farm animals and all kines of shi5. We had fourwheelers and Nashville didnt have traffic it was a small city. Especially on the outskirt towns where I grew up. My mom grew up in a small town I grew up in so we knew everyone. My grandad would throw big BBQs once a summer where hundreds of ppl would come to his ranch and we'd all eat shrimp and shit from his big smokers. It was the best time of my life. He died in 2001 if he was still around my family would be a lot stronger he held the family and community together. Ive never met someone with such charisma. Everyone loved him. So I always say 90s because it reminds me of my grandad I guess im bias.

I've always been very fascinated by the '80s, though I didn't get to experience them! Much of the media I've seen from that time makes it look like such a cool era, and my favorite show The Golden Girls was filmed mostly in the '80s!

1930s. If I could go back in time, I'd fix all this current modern age garbage with a few choice words to a certain leader.... If only.

Why don't 2001-2010 and 2011-2020 count as their own decades? 2001-2010 gave birth to the Emo phase, and 2011-2020 is when I lost my will to live!

2010 is way different than 2001. Smartphones vs before smartphones. 90s and early 00s should be together 2010-2023 should be together imo
