Fear of monkeys

I fear all primates. Anyone that would want one as a pet or actually does own one as a pet is a crazy fool. I don't care anyone says. These things are dangerous and shouldn't be kept as pets.

I feel the same way. Most primates, but especially chimps, creep me out. Have you ever hear of the Uncanny Valley? It's a fascinating idea that may explain your phobia (mine too).

Cats rule, monkeys drool and dogs are always hella cool!

I'm not afraid of monkeys as such, they are nasty clever little thieves but they disappear with a flick of a stone. Its the wild gorilla's which really unsettles me because even against humans they don't give up... However its most likely that I will never come across one and therefore I've nothing to fear.

I like monkey very much. While in Indonesia I was having a bowl of soup in a local eating establishment. I spoke no Indonesian and the proprietor spoke no English so I took what he served not knowing what it was. Anyway, the soup was very, very good, but I did pause when one spoonfull of soup had a little tiny black hand in it, and I realized I was eating monkey soup. Yum, yum.
