Firs time someone abused me with in game voice chat

I wasn't playing all that badly, but the dude just abused me because we lost, because while he was charging headfirst into the enemy, I was playing it safe.

My hands were trembling and my heart was racing. My minds was trying to calm myself down and failed miserably. Before, I thought it was weird how someone would commit suicide over hate comments from the internet. Now I know.

you could say it was the first time someone absolutely verbalized their hate to me.

Do you go through this too?, Is it normal?

It's Apex legends, few days later I screamed at a kid for being useless and dying first and kept nagging me to do stuff. guess this is what you go through and you just become numb to it.

    Agreed with the others here suggesting to not become like them and to try to ignore it. It's hard for them to keep it up if you don't even acknowledge or engage in it.

    People need to remember that these are just games and they aren't that serious. There's no need for anyone to get verbally abusive over them. I can understand how people get frustrated when they're on a team and someone drops the ball, but there's certainly nothing wrong with stepping aside to take a few deep breaths rather than going off on someone, either.

          It just seems like such a waste of time, and energy. People who game a lot are oftentimes the sort who are really out of shape, eat lots of junk food, and have bad hygiene.

          Between you, and me video games hold zero appeal, but OP's predicament has me want to game just enough to get some pathetic loser to rage out on me, because I'm relatively sure I could say a few things in a calm, friendly voice that would make those bullies wish they were never born. I'm pretty sure I could make em cry like the worms they are. The only danger would be that I might crack up, and start laughing uncontrollably. 🤣

            I've known people who match that description, who I suspect were addicted to video games. They definitely did not play them in moderation and would spend hours and hours per day on them, blow off people and plans (and responsibilities) in favor of them, and were always super anxious to get back to them after a certain length of time of being away from them. I definitely think some people take them too seriously and spend way too much time on them, and that that can be detrimental to one's mental and physical health.

      I actually find the concept of gamer rage too hilarious, because it just proves what lame ass losers they are. People who care so unbelievably much about stupid video games that they actually lose their tempers, and become enraged are mindbogglingly pathetic.

    Stop wasting your time with those losers online, and go run a couple of miles instead. Learn to play a musical instrument, do something athletic, or artistic instead of hanging around a bunch of nerdy losers who play stupid video games, and verbally abuse you. Go get a gym membership, and forget about those loser-jerkwads.

    Stop playing those nerdy video games, and do something productive, those guys must be really pathetic losers to get so emotional over a stupid video game. It's time for you to grow a pair, and participate in reality instead of living like a dreg of humanity.

    Yeah you've toughened your skin to it, which was the right thing to do. It startled me a bit when I started online gaming, but you soon get used to it. Just remember not to lose yourself in it. Be a positive gamer and not a negative one, that's the only way the community gets better.

      ... but it might be even better for OP to learn, and become proficient at real life things like playing a musical instrument, learning a foreign language, creating some kind of art, and or practicing yoga. OP would truly serve himself better to go run a few miles instead of wasting time gaming with losers who just happen to be screaming assholes as well.

    I remember the first time I went on voice chat as a child it was yahoo messenger and I discovered I apparently have a thick southern accent. I never noticed it before that point. Everytime Id talk ppl were like "dude you sound country af" so I tried to get rid of it

      I didn't know I had a Southern accent until I was 24 when I went on to a chat with far northerner Americans & Canadians and the first thing to come out of their mouths when I started talking was "Who invented the cowboy?". Said I didn't believe them and they gave a recording of my voice... I was so sad after that. It wasn't even the good kind either it was the "HeRkA GeRkA GoOGa CoOcA ChUu, I'm'a fuck ya in da butt" kind.

        When ppl move north the first thing they try to do is fix their accent so people dont make fun of them. Kids are even more sensitive to this shit cause they want to fit in. Southern kids want to be a hipster or california stoner now because they're embarrassed when they get made fun of on xbox. Before internet you were isolated so you didnt know you sounded and dressed different but now with the internet the culture is dying. We are all gonna turn into faggots.

              Yes but I never wanted to fit in/craved acceptance from other people or be a stoner or a hipster, I was sad because it shattered my mental image of what I though I sounded like so I did some vocal exercises for a few years to make it much deeper & gravely plus speak in a mostly flat, monotone, accentless voice.
