First ever job interview tomorrow. any tips?

I'm male, early twenties, socially anxious. The job is in the fashion industry with mostly young people. I know that socially anxious/shy and fashion don't really fit but I had to apply for whatever was available. Any advice would be appreciated :)

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • Anyway interview is over. I was nervous as fuck and probably already crossed off their list. I'll take it as a learning experience.

What the hell have you been doing most of your adult life if this is your first job interview?

OP was probably in college. Some people don't work if they do college full time. It's seen as the norm where I come from.

What about highschool? A shitty burger job or something.

          • I didn't even know I could get a job in school. No-one ever told me that. School was so stressful all I wanted was rest in the holidays.

  • Make eye contact and be prepaired go over answers you have for questions you think you may get asked. If you can’t answer something like “in your last job when you messed something up how did you fix it?” And you have nothing to say because of lack in experience just be like “ I haven’t experienced this but know that I need to ___” just try n answer all the questions and look confident also dress good.

Smell good. Don't chew gum. Sit up straight. They'll all ask this: What is your greatest weakness? Tell them you're a workoholic.

Early 20s and your first job?! Try to act like a normal person for like a half an hour and say the answers that they want to hear, they want someone that can follow orders but also put on their own pants in the morning.

    • I'm sorry that's how most people do it around here. School > college > job. I did something employment related at 18 but I wouldn't consider it a job.
