For me, guns n roses is the best rock band ever
I've seen a lot of music bands from every decade and I declare Guns N' Roses the best in my book. Some kind of crazy magic spell conjured those guys up to merge their stars. GNR was a crazy animal.

Ohhh dear. I only like sweet child of mine and a couple other songs. I never cared for them as a whole.
I wasn't even around then :-( I discovered Guns N Roses about 10 years ago. I rediscovered them when I was converting my CD's to my digital library. I love them.
This reminds me of another seemingly obscure 80s band. LA Guns. Anyone heard of them? I love some of the songs I've found. Much fun.
Slash, yes. Izzy wrote a lot of the songs. I can't see Guns N Roses without all of the original members. Axl, nuts? Yes. Some might say you can't get that kind of charisma without a touch of madness, or, in Axl's case, bipolar tendencies. He could connect with the audience. Vocally? He's a rock singer, not an opera vocalist or someone practicing do rae me fa so lah every day.
I don't like how bands keep hanging on. Like, go out on top and stop. The only band that I think has had staying power is Aerosmith.
The first time I heard 'sweet child of mine' on the radio I loved the intro (it really raised my expectations), then the guy started singing and it all came crashing down.
If someone can tell me how they toured all high as kite and drunk off their ass, I would like to know! I'm like as opposite to that as it comes. I've been drug free for life. So, I can't see how they did it.
Watch their Live At the Ritz 1988 concert. That one sealed my decision about this band.
I'm not really a fan to be honest, can't get past his voice, but civil war is great and November rain is still one hell of a song
