From dgraves6 .. does anyone ever get o

Does anyone ever get on the deep web? I used it for the first time the other day. I have a secure connection and a great vpn. I'm still very green though, as far as learning while I'm on it. I was wondering if anyone experienced with it could give me some tips. Just for the record, I'm not trying to do anything or go anywhere that is illegal.

I never have, and never will. I simply have no desire to, and just hearing about some of the sick stuff that's on there is enough to keep me away.

I just like that potentially destructive knowlage you know? That makes it a tasty bit of info. I like secrets and spicy information.

Never been on it. I've always been curious how you even get on it though, and how you'd navigate without a search engine. Don't you have to know the exact web address you want?

I used tor. Its pretty creepy. Like Lloyd said, torch is a search engine i used. I also went on the hidden wiki. From what i saw it was about 50/50 when it came down to usable information compared to links that want you to buy drugs, paypal or netflix accounts, fake money, and hitmen

Huh. This is all very interesting. I kinda want to see for myself now just because I'm a curious cat lol. So you didn't get any weird baby abuse popups like Lloyd?

I didnt click on alot of stuff. But it is out there. Heres a tip. Never click the links outright. Right click the link, click on "copy link". Paste it into the search bar. Then delete the https:// part and go to the end of the address and backspace untill there is nothing left after .onion
This is safer because even if the link is for....lets say ebooks. Outright clicking any link on there could re route you to bad stuff or send malware to ur shit. Making sure the https:// is backspaced out of the address is hella important too. If your gonna get on it try the hidden wiki first.

Oh they removed the kiddy porn link tab since then? Great their standards are improving. Been a while since I've been there.

There are some search engines specifically built for it. Like torch or not evil. Then there are some deep web wiki pages with at least a few websites to give you a place to start looking. Specific sites have to be found by searching through the more broad sites. Or go to 4 chan or reddit about the sites.

Have to use .tor browser and then have to know specific links to use for different types of pages, with caution, afaik

I have. Be VERY careful on where you go. Never download anything. One moment you are trying to download uzi schematics and boom you got a video of an infant being chansawed in half. Not what I was looking for and burned that image of pure hell into my brain.

On the other hand the deepweb is where you find the latest news about places where the normal internet is restricted. You just need a guide to tell you where it is. Cause you know every goverments spy agency from everywhere is snooping through there at any given time.

General recommendation? The deep web is not the place to go unless you got some deep shit buisness going on.

Was that just an example or is that what you actually saw? I've seen some fucked up shit on there too but that's a pretty rough first "whoops".

Yeah it's something I actually saw. I thought the site was at least free of that kind of extreme content.

And if you were wondering about that uzi schematic I just like to collect knowlage about stuff. I dont have any capacity to be making them. I just like hording the knowlage. Plus what's more interesting a pinball machine schematic or a gun schematic.

Some of them consisted of shady stuff, it's much worse than the dark web.

You have this backward. The deep web is merely a word for all non-indexed sites that traditional search engines can't find, and it's morally and legally neutral. It can be anything really. It's just not indexed.

The dark web is just a term for the subset of the deep web that is definitely illegal and morally dubious.

There are also rumors of a so-called "shadow web" which is somehow inaccessible even via the methods of accessing the deep web. It's purported to contain content far worse than snuff films, hitmen for hire, and sex slaves for purchase, whatever this would mean. That said, security experts and hackers alike contend that it's just a rumor and has no means to actually exist.
