Gaming a moderate amount is fine and even good. But i'm worried though that you said you broke up with your bf because of it. It's not terribly healthy in that case and you really shouldn't overdo it. You can always manage your time well. If possible, spend time with your bf and if he's out on holiday or sports games or something, then you can play at home. You can juggle both at once!

Guys won't really be intimidated by it. But they might question your commitment to the relationship. To cut the long story short, everything in moderation, my friend.

Unless you let your gaming interfere with your day to day life, I can't see what the problem is. However it does sound a little like you overdo it a bit, and guys don't like coming second in your life to something like that. There's no need to stop, just cut down a little if you play too much and try to find a guy who doesn't care as much about shit like that.

Seriously, find someone who is happy with you being you. My son and his wife are both gamers (more strategy/RP gamers than RTS/FPS), and they are almost sickeningly happy together.

We played NFS World for a bit together, but she sucked at driving, so we ditched that. She wanted to try wow (Cause it had pretty characters and lots of clothes and accesories). I've played wow previously only cause I could goof off with friends. We used wow as a sort of chat-thing/ mess with players. I find the game boring, but for her... I downloaded it. She couldn't do the missions and kept dying and asking me to constantly help/ revive/ heal/ kill everything. And that was on an instant 80 server with some good gear. Not really her thing.
Tried introducing her to Flight Simulator X... failed. No plane landed that day.
Tried a FPS, failed. She found them boring.
She didn't like strategy games, cause you go to war on all of them.... That's what she says.
Tried the Mass Effect series. I loved it and so did she. I played all the combat sections. She made the decisions and paired the couples XD That was fun, but I wish we could play some game together.

Cause I will never play farmville or any other shitty facebook farm game she plays. I'd rather play Farming Simulator or Street-sweeper simulator on hard, than play farmville. No. Not insulting enough... Actually, I'd rather eat my own right hand, than play farmville! XD

We play World Racing 2 together (Racing game with a lot of mods), but she drives too slowly. I overtake her in a bus XD

the video games could be a plus to getting picked up. One of the scariest things about talking to a girl, is if you don't know anything about what they are interested in. It makes it harder to click. So it could be a good plus causing guys to feel more conformable talking with you.

It's normal, some guys would feel a bit intimidated depending on what they're like. I used to play games 24/7 but that's only because I was kind of brought up into them cuz' of my brothers.

It is absolutely normal, and there is literally no difference between a guy who loves games and a girl who loves games.

Personally, when I find females who are as into games as me, I find it refreshing. Gaming is not a male sport--it's just unfortunately dominated by males who perpetuate the stereotype.

I think it's stupid that video games are still considered a guy thing. My sister and I are both crazy about games. It's annoying if it's your only interest and the only thing you can talk about, but your boyfriend sounds like a dick all telling you what you can and can't enjoy.

Being only able to talk about games is annoying. I would not want this trait in a girlfriend or boyfriend. I have coworkers who can only talk about gaming and they are one-sided and boorish.

To be honest with you i play a lot of similar games and is enthralled to find women playing the games ofcourse its normal if a woman wasnt having sex reading magazines or watching tv or going out what else would she be doing...? she'd be sat there bored! All guns blazing to you love play them and play them well! A guy who disrespects women for doing things he does himself is a disgrace no matter how much she plays them. Even if you do like to go zombie hunting and doing quests and fighting bosses and jumping great distances as hunters to rip someones guts out... if i could get a girlfriend who enjoyed games as much as i did i definately would never leave her for a start but i think id never leave her house or never let her leave mine haha xD best of luck with finding a boyfriend :) x

I've always loved gaming but only really got into it when I started dating a Dota addict because it took up so much of his time and attention that I felt left out.

Now we dota together all the time and I really enjoy it, most guys find it intriguing (though there is no hope for the jocks out there- they just don't get it)
I actually get a much more negative reaction from girls :(

I'm a girl and I love to play games too! My boyfriend doesn't mind, we try to find games both our computers can handle so we can play together, which is fun. There's no shame in doing what you like to do, unless it gets in the way of your life. I think it is a little excessive you play during school and go to a LAN shop though.
