Grown woman and constantly check my apartment for aliens?

Is it normal to be a grown woman and constantly check my apartment for aliens and feel like they're going to get me, or fear laying facing the wall where I can't see if they come up behind me, and fear going to sleep? I'm 22. I only date when the magic just happens out of nowhere but I'm tempted to go get a boyfriend so I won't be so scared.

Checking your apartment for aliens isn't any stranger than checking for ghosts or clowns. That said, I think you're probably safe. To my knowledge, aliens only kidnap people that can help them learn about our planet, and with how many abductions have been reported in the past, the list of things they don't know must be pretty short. As long as you don't exhibit any qualities that pique their interest, they should leave you alone.

    • I mean even if I'm not scared it won't stop the abductions themselves...

Get a dog, if your apartment allows it.

    • Great advice, but no, it doesn't. Although I'm not sure a dog would help as much as a person, it's true that just the presence of any living thing kind of helps. Like I would be less afraid even with a small kid or something that obviously couldn't protect me, somewhat anyway. I mostly fear they are going to get me when I'm totally alone and there are no witnesses or anyone to share the experience. It's hard to explain.

I'm relatively sure that you don't have aliens living in your walls. If extraterrestrials were to come here, and try to get you, a boyfriend wouldn't realistically be able to protect you from creatures who are advanced enough to come to this planet to get you.

        • You're absolutely right. We're powerless against them. Like you said, they don't live in the walls. They came here with tech we can't imagine. It just seems like they don't come as much when people are around.

You know I don't believe there are aliens in your walls. Perhaps you have a family of raccoons in your attic?
