Gta gamers only: what is your most favorite gta game ever?

GTA SA made my childhood. Learned a lot of English that way, so I am attached to it the most. GTA VC was the other one I played and enjoyed. I didn't try any of the rest.

I wonder who voted GTA 1 and why.

I have played GTA sanandreas a lot & GTA 5 was fine too but worst was GTA 3 liberty city

GTA Vice City (2002) by a long shot. It had been ranked game of the year that year (by IGN and numerous prominent game reviewers), and after years it still beats most new games. The GTA 3 one was a prototype with huge limitation, a mute unlikable main guy Claude, gloomy and boring. GTA Vice City was the real game that revolutionized the series and addressed all GTA 3's limitation. New cool weapons, cars, gangs, missions, and so much more. Tommy Vvercetti is by far the best main guy in the series, also it was set in the 80s, based on classic 80s Miami and the great awesome 80s musics. I fondly remember my most favorite mission in the game "Rub Out", where Tommy and Lance take out Diaz and his gang, taking over Diaz's mansion and establishing their own gang (the Vercetti gang) and their own businesses. In the end Lance betrayed Tommy and Tommy had to kill him, totally taking over Vice City. Good times, miss it, havent played the game since 2009. Actually I stopped playing games overall since 2010, but was a huge fan of the GTA series playing 2, 3 , Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City stories, Vice City Stories and 4. VCS just cant capture the magic the original VC did for me. Anyway out of all the games my most favorite is the original GTA Vice City (2002), my most favorite game ever tbh.

I've only played GTA 4, but I doubt my opinion would change if I played all of them. I've completed the story a dozen times or more, and I have nostalgia from it that no other game could bring.

Sorry, I havent played GTA 1, 5 and Online. But all the rest I did. My personal most favorite is GTA San andreas, it is my most favorite game ever. it had everything a game should have. I liked GTA 4, story was good but compared to San Andreas the game was so restricted and removed so many of the cool features in San Andreas (gyms, gang war, territory takeovers, barber and tattoo parlors and so much more), enhanced graphics is the only thing GTA 4 has edge over SA in my opinion, otherwise San Andreas is the best. Also being african American I like how San Andreas featured strong black characters, not to mention main character CJ was black, also other strong black characters like Big Smoke, Ryder, Kendl Sweet and officer Tenpenny. In SA there is a character Cesar Vialpando, mexican decent, who is a diff gang leader but one of CJ's closest friend and the boyfriend of CJ's sister Kendl. I really like him not only cause he shares my name but is a strong and enjoyable character. (A reason I hate Vice City is because of its racist approach to black Haitians, also 3 and VC were so limited compared to the enormous elements SA offered). I first bought San Andreas for ps2 in 2005 and still play on my ps3 (13 years!) and never get bored. In contrast I hate GTA China Town wars, played in only 7 days in 2010 and was frustrated at the mediocre story of a young boy avenging his father's death to become top leader of the gang and also the camera viewing, its difficult to enjoy any of it (played it on my psp), and literally threw it away. In contrast GTA LCS and VCS were great PSP games, enjoyable, better stories (Carl, Antonio and Victor are my 3 most fav main guys, Niko is weired but do like his complex character) CW is just aweful a disgrace to psp, even the old GTA 2 was more enjoyable. EFLC are just expansions to GTA 4, they add nothing new to the game, but between The Lost and Damned and Ballad Gay of Tonly I liked TBOGT better, much better story, both Tonly and the main guy Luis are amazing characters and TLAD was a boring biker story and Johnny Klebiutz is a herk, my most hated main character in the game. I will finish this by ranking the GTA games I played from my most favorite to least favorite. GTA 3 the main guy Claude was mute which was a major turn off, I met him again on SA and wanted to kill the loser. Even Claude Speed from gTA 2 was more interesting, and GTA 2 has a special place as my first GTA and had introduecd an open world gaming environment to me that no other game series can replicate inlclduing the basic features which are classic for all gta games since: wanted level, police chase, weapons, cool vehicles, an open world to explore without limits and so much more. I do like one thing about GTA 4, two endings to chose and I always go for Revenge ending, more emotional and enjoyable and I like and dont want Roman Bellic to die. Still I like GTA Sa, and it has 100+ missions all amazing, challenging and fun and more mission than any other GTA games. And nothing more fun than fighting the Ballas and Vagos gangs and taking over their territory, greens my most fav color and am a huge fan of the Grove Street Family homies for that. BTW I havent played GTA 5, so maybe it will beat them all, I dont intend to play regardless (I hear its just too big, the pc version requires 7 discs, also I really dont have the time to complete new games that big with my busy schedule), I am getting too old to play the games but heres my list of best to worst from the ones i played:

2. GTA 4 + EFLC expansions
3. GTA Vice City Stories
4. GTA liberty City Stories
5. GTA Vice City
6. GTA 2
7. GTA 3
8. GTA Chinatown wars.

Of them now I still play GTA SA and 4, but my works schedule would require me to stop playing all games all together soon. Regardless GTA San Andreas for me will always be the best game that I ever played...
