Gun laws out of the usa
I feel vulnerable to go out of the country to some other place where guns are illegal. I feel vulnerable. Thinking about going to Mexico or Colombia but I worry about corrupt cops or cartel.

I can get your point if you're going to a high crime country where most criminals would have access to guns anyway. Not if you're going to a peaceful country where its rare to have a gun.
I think gun laws should be a local decision, not a global one. Its what actually works best in the current situation to keep the most people safe, and sometimes that involves defending yourself (ranged weapons only needed if your opponent has them). Sometimes its more about preventing those weapons being introduced in the first place, but once a good number of criminals get their hands on them its kinda too late. By the way I'm from Norway, but can actually see why Americans (at least some locations in America) may need guns when we don't other than hunting
There's no need to leave the US for any reason. There's a ton of stuff to do in the USA.
I mean to be fair some countries are legitimately safer than America. Like Japan (navy) where we had an even lower security standard than we had in America.
