Guy: is intelligence on a girl attractive or intimidating?

Smarty pants girls that are also kind and sex kittens make me want to rip their damned clothes off.

im smart but not a braniac i hate super smart people they drain the fun from the situation.... me and my friend always "debate" over dumb things lol
for example she says if you put a newborn puppy in a room with cows they will moo not bark
i say that their brains dont function like that and the only noises they can make are simple whines and barks

Most people are close to and friends with people of a similar degree of intelligence; we naturally gravitate that way. The same can be said of a girlfriend or boyfriend. It's attractive when someone can understand what you're talking about, gets your jokes and makes their own, can initiate conversation, be thoughtful etc.

That usually means the wider the intelligence gap, the less compatible two people are. A girl who is vastly more intelligent than me or a girl who is basically retarded probably won't be as attractive as a girl who is equally intelligent.

So intelligence per se isn't attractive, but equal intelligence is :)

Attractive. I never date a girl who I can't have an intelligent conversation with. Granted, I make sure she doesn't have too big an ego, since intelligence and an ego is bad on anyone.

If a girl is smarter than me - as well as being attractive in other ways - that turns me on. I enjoy the intellectual stimulation.

I'm very attracted to intelligent, strong women, but I've learned that beauty and intelligence are a bad combination. Women never want to admit it, but they are the most selfish creature on Earth. Anybody who is relatively intelligent will tell you that you begin asking questions of life, yourself, and other people. Mainly, the question is "Why?" When you begin to question why you can or can't do or have something, you begin to disregard the popular ideas everybody so blindly follows. Combine this with the selfish nature of females and combine it with their ability to make themselves believe in anything that supports their own agenda and you have a very evil, vindictive creature on your hands.

Being smart is fine, but being a smartass is not. Some people unfortunately are both, and can't figure out why people don't like them.

Overall I would say smart girls are very attractive. It's only intimidating if she's more intelligent than me, but so far I have yet to find a girl such as that.

A smart girl can often excite you both mentally and physically, it's a much more rewarding experience.

Sure, intelligence is great. But don't let it be a habit to ALWAYS be better than him at EVERYTHING.I know how pathetic this may sound, but you have to let him win at at least one thing, otherwise he will feel like a piece of crap.

Both intimidating and extremely attractive. Hard to find these days though. Most females would be classified in the dumb category and have very little important things to contribute to a conversation.

Guy or girl, intelligence is attractive. You do not want to be with someone who is a goddamn idiot...not to mention, gender should not matter(I say that because I see a lot of guys on here are intimidated and/or think they should be the smart one in the relationship)...reality check: women can be just as smart as men, and whoever told you otherwise is in fact VERY uneducated. This isn't the 1920s people...wow do some of you scare me! haha

Beenwith brainy girls a lot and ended bad as they are too damn selfish. So I'd prefer normal iq girls.

Intelligent girls still need to be smart about avoiding/dumping guys who don't respect them and are upset/angered by their brainpower. Like it or not there are, as the poll or a quick read of these posts illustrate, guys who feel entitled because of what's between their legs rather than in their heads. And they often have bottled up anger from being frustrated because the world doesn't work like that.

The girl would have to be smart and humble. She can't make me feel dumb though. I'm smarter than the average person and don't want to feel dumber than average.

Of course we like someone who's intelligent! There's nothing unique about that.

As long as they're not stupid, I don't mind. Stupid people just annoy me. However, if they're freaking genious, that would probably bug me a bit too.

I am very intelligent and would like to be able to hold an intellectual conversation with a girl. If I had a dumb girlfriend, while talking to a particular co-worker on a stop-in and grab a sandwich for my GF and I, we would be going back and forth while she stands there wiith a stupified look upon her face. That would be so annoying.

I find smart girls to be wonderful, alas, I don't really know any. I hate when someone tries to 'act' smart when they clearly do not know what they are talking about tho.
