Give them a mint the size of as Goodyear tire.

I dunno, and to tell you the truth I sure wish I knew how to handle this one. I might randomly offer the person gum or a breath mint, but with luck they usually turn it down.

You probably can't tell them without upsetting them to some extent, but how about something like: "Do you realise you have bad breath?" in a nice tone of voice and not in front of other people.

I once worked in a small firm with a woman who had not only bad breath but bad BO as well and none of us were game to tell her until a client complained and the boss insisted his secretary speak to her, which she did. There were lots of tears from the smelly woman but she got rid of her smelliness by the next day. What I couldn't work out was how her family and her boyfriend coped with it in much closer quarters than an office.
