Hamster vs rat?
I want either two rats or a hamster. I'm going with a hamster if they can be trained not to bite, so pick hamster if that's possible.

I had 2 hamsters one meen one nice....the meen one killed the nice one.
I also owned a pet rat... she was like a tiny dog... she would come when you called her. She also would sit on my shoulder... like I could walk around without fear of her running off. I also built her a maze... great fun with my cardboard maze :)
She passed away after 2 years.
rats make great pets
My moms psychology professor...I was friends with his daughter... had very well trained rats. They had their own place at the dinner table andwould sit and eat. He had white lab rats.
Rats are very smart and can be trained much more so than a hamster.
I had a pet rat a long time ago very appropriately named...Scrotum
I have had hamsters. They are mean and kill each other. They tend to bite as well. Mine didnt bite always and I would hold them but sometimes they would bite. They would also escape, although so have most confined animals I have had.
Rats are the idea choice hands down for a pocket pet. Hamsters can be mean and they bite.
Well, a lot of people like hamsters but I don't really get it. They seem pretty soulless to me, from my experience anyway (ie. you have to train them not to bite the hand that feeds..?)... Rats definitely have more personality, then again so does any pet rodent... My favorite are gerbils - I've had several - they are clean, docile, and don't get sick easily. Plus they are adorable!
Rats are more intelligent. They have packs that function similar to that of a wolf or dog but hamsters dislike to socialise. Anyway, why would you get a creature that has to be taught not to bite over a rodent which knows better? Rats understand your boundaries quickly without training.
Ugh neither. Rabbits are the best rodent for a pet! The males are best they don't bite but if you neuter them the females are ok too.
Also guinea pigs are nicer than hamsters.
i have had 40 hamsters throughout my life and they were all adorable and sweet. they never bit me. except for the one time i kept poking my poor little hamster while she was sleeping. she got mad and she bit me. but i have heard rats are better in a way. if youre looking to get a pet then i suggest adopting one from the shelters. theyre most likely to be better trained and you can safe a life! :) good luck
I chose the rats. They gave me so many kisses (they actually licked me!) i couldnt resist.
