Has anyone had this health issue? one for the girls
It's a lump in the pubic region on the outside of the body where it meets the edge of the mucus membrane, near the perineum on the left side. The lump is hard and painful when touched; larger than your average zit. After I squeeze it or try to pierce it (because I am a compulsive spot squeezer), my fingers are covered in acrid-smelling moisture. But that might just be sweat and fecal matter. I tried to pierce it in attempt to 'drain' it and it just bled. I know this wasn't a wise thing to do; you don't need to all jump on me.
I've had it for nearly a week now.
WebMD and MayoClinic suggest a range of possible diagnoses and I am of course going to visit a doctor if it doesn't show signs of clearing up in a few days. I am in my early thirties, have no kids, don't smoke and am not sexually active.
The least likely diagnosis is cancer, but I'm considering this a possibility still, since cancer runs in my family: my grandfathers on both sides, my uncle on my mother's side, my mother and my paternal grandmother's two sisters have had it.
If a lot of you have had a lump of this sort of description and it wasn't an STI or cancer, then it narrows the options down (and I'll know whether or not I ought to be concerned)...
