Have any of you seen or experienced a ghost?

This has been asked before, but it's been quite some time. It would be interesting to read input from this "generation" of is it normal users.

Incidentally...I have.

I might elaborate, depending on the participation in this poll.

I have seen or seen evidence of ghosts/spirits 31
I have experienced things leading me to believe I had 36
I know credible persons who have 10
I'm sceptical 20
I'm cynical 5
I simply don't believe it happens 26
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I have been haunted by spacey and marlboro man. Both were lovely experiences.

    • Spacy would need suckonthis9 to be seen by the rest of us. He's the only one who sees space ghosts.

Marlboro Man is easily mistaken for a wisp of smoke, then disappears in the wind.

Spacey is real, not a figment of that user's imagination. I'd rather keep him out of any equation I'm involved with...ugh.

That's part of what makes Marlboro Man so exciting...you never know when he's gonna show up :P

According to many...those of us that have seen ghosts, say they're real. Handsignals would call you a liar...just sayin'

I remember that my grandmother always wore this jacket. You know how some people have certain characteristics, like a beard, or a hat? Well my grandmother always wore this jacket, and it gave off a weird smell. Not bad, just unique. And for some reason, after she died I kept smelling that jacket wherever I went, and I could always feel her near me. It wasn't scary, but I told my Dad and he told me, years later, that it shook him up when I told him that.

    • My grandmother often saw my granddad after he died.

When my grandmother passed, I was on a long bike ride and pulled over because I was overwhelmed by the familiar smell of their old house...and I had obscure memories of them bombard me out of nowhere.

I found out later that she had passed at that same time.

    • Interesting perspective.

Most cynics pin sightings on anything from hallucinations to other explainable events...as well as some hoaxes. You, however, are so wise and all-knowing that you can paint all of us who claim to have experienced unusual phenomenon with the broad brush of mistruth.

Methinks you're as psychic as you are genius.

People see something that scares them, they automatically there gut reaction is that it's something supernatural, then they calm down and realize there is a perfectly rational explanation for what they experienced.
Then when it comes time to recalling the experience they wont the story to sound interesting so they try and make out it was something supernatural.

Sometimes there isn't a perfectly rational explanation - that's what leads a lot of people to fill in the absence of truth with pure speculation, usually of a supernatural variety. You make it sound like everybody is bullshitting because they're liars. I'd say the majority believe their own bullshit, if it is indeed bullshit.

Seriously people, there is something weird going on in my house. These invisible spirits are like heavy air and they become one with things. I caught a couple and trapped them in containers and zip lock bags. You can see their breathing. The freaking bags and containers are moving as if something is breathing. Its really freaking me out. My mom is staying with me . I didn't tell her what I was seeing and now she's saying she sees this carp. Wtf?

My grandma lived in a haunted house. I don't know much but the dog hid under the bed and grandma left.

When my dad was young, my Uncle (age five) was dying with leukemia. He was in his bed alone and my dad and his older brother were playing in the living room. They started to hear music coming from their younger brother's room, but no on was in the house besides them and there wasn't a radio in his room. They walked up to the door (which exited from the living room), when they opened it no one was there except their little brother. They asked him if someone was in there playing music, and their brother just shrugged and said he didn't know. I also see a dark shadow at times. It doesn't seem to bother anyone, it's just there. I used to think it was just my eyes playing tricks on me, but I told my dad about it and he said he's seen it as well, and has seen it ever since the first house my parents used to live in. It followed us to the second house. I kind of like to think it's my grandfather. He was a drunkard in life and wasn't a good father. he died around when that shadow started appearing. I've searched the internet and there's been lot's of times where multiple people have seen a strange shadow at the same time. It kind of makes me think we're not alone. But I won't believe that until I have absolute proof.
I can name tons of other weird things that have happened to me and my dad's side of the family. Stuff that has never happened to any other families I know. It only happens to my dad's side of the family, and me.

Nope. I get occasional bouts of paranoia and the odd trick of the eye, and I have had some more eccentric moments (mostly as a kid) where I've convinced myself there is someone or something there in the dark or floating through the air.

But afterwards I realise it was my mind running around off the leash.

Growing up, my mother was very paranoid about ghosts. She would believe in them so much and tell so many scary stories that my undeveloped childish brain would start to see and hear things too.
Now I'm older and I'm seeing how my mother reacts to things through adult eyes, and I realise that she just had a very over active imagination and made it seem so real to me.
Some things however I can't really explain. I prefer to ignore those things.

I would love to hear your story if you don't mind posting it. If not, we can pm. I don't have gold so I don't know if I can.

      I'll share mine in awhile.
