I'm curious because I've been told by an old friend that guys will never be into me because of it & that I'll possibly come off as boring or too weird for them to be interested.

It rather appears that the preference here seems to be for shy, quiet and introverted young ladies.
Everyone is different and so is the taste in girls. I personally like shy girls.
i remember during the 2014 days i was in class and i crushed on this alt chick but i knew she was way out of my league though i knew she was a very introverted person but i myself was too scared to even tell my feelings to her.
years later i regretted not pursuing her if i could turn back time i would tell myself to never be shy and pursue her.
I am shy and introverted and i've dated plenty. In my experience men thinks that means you are easily to control so it can be tricky but you just need to learn to recognize the red flags. There's men who likes shy women because they think women should be quiet and "know their place" and they automatically think shy women would tolerate that just because we arent as loud and outspoken about our rights as extroverted women are. Then again i've had normal decent men find me weird or boring because I wont go to parties and because I dont hang out with friends much, they find that odd and decide we are "too different". I've had best luck with men whos personalities are very similar to mine which is unfortunate since I am never attracted to people similar to myself but that is my issue and it's all about finding the right person.
Oh yeah and I still wonder where she is and how stupid I was not to have pursued her.
From the point of view of another woman who likes women, yes, I have. If you're only looking from opinions from men, though, most of them like introverted women. That's not to say all of them do, but the majority like a soft spoken girl.
