Have you ever had your 15 min of fame?

Several times; but they are fleeting and long in my past.

I used to attend Madison Wi City Council meetings and often got up to say something that was different than the common 2 sides on an issue. That resulted with me being featured on the local TV news and in the Newspapers several times.

The other thing is that city council members would often seek me out to discuss my views and the reasons for them as the answers to most issues has to be somewhere in the middle of the 2 common sides.

Interesting side effect is that when I got interested in the city budget, or other issues, that the city government provided me free copies (that budget document was over 1000 pages and they normally charged $20 for a copy) and meetings with department heads to discuss things. It was all very educational about how cities really work.

When I went to my next High School Reunion a lot of my classmates told me that they had seen me on TV News several times or read about me and my views on an issue in the newspaper (I grew up about 30 miles from Madison, and the local TV and Main Newspapers were from Madison).

I was an Official at the 1996 Olympics. That resulted in local news coverage as well.

There's been certain technical society awards... (best paper of the year in a subject area, innovative application of technology, etc.) but, those are only known to a limited population.

nope. Unless you count people making a facebook hate group to bully me about my tornado husband. It made me want to kms.

Intensely pleasurable in the moment when the applause reaches a fever pitch, then lonely and disorientating after the final the curtian falls. A bit like masturbating, if you think about it.

The 2 closest things to that I can think of are either the 3 gold metals I won in submission wrestling or having a few youtube videos I made go viral.

Jim Cramer read my viewer comment on his show "Mad Money", back in 2010. He gave a rather involved answer that seemed to make him sweat a bit. I got 5 minutes of national television coverage out of the deal. Whether I ever get my remaining 10 minutes of fame from a future event is questionable.

When I was in the army I was interviewed by sky news during the invasion of Iraq

I saw myself on local news, it was a segment on large snowfalls back in 2013 (I think, could be 2014).
I saw the news crew and went for it... beautiful drift in front of the camera. Friend of mine saw the news and called me to to tell me I was on tv...

I'm also on a facebook dashcam video on "road safety" in my town's facebook group. I overtook a slow driver without paying attention to the road markings (Oh no, such a sin!)
Still nice video tho, that E-class looks good.

never had the fame but i had 15 years of been a millionaire and life that goes with it . i started with nothing and now im back with nothing and happier

When I went into the Navy right before bootcamp, my group was selected to be the white Sox division for that year. So the white Sox sponsored our division by giving us our uniforms for free as well as a white sox flag to add to our flag march. It was all PR but theres nothing more fulfilling to be in the middle of a packed stadium and to be cherished by thousands of people.

My enthusiasm for life was 25/10! Two hours later I was in bootcamp and it decreased to 3/10.

So that was fun while it lasted.

Yeah a few small ones I guess.

Fame can be good and bad.
