Have you ever lied about a super natural experience?

I got the idea for this poll because so many people I know have told me their ghost/alien/demon/werewolf/etc. stories and I wonder how often people make these up. I do believe in some of these things and have had a few strange experiences myself, although I know the brain is capable of making crazy perceptions as well. Anyway while I'm sure lots of people tell the truth, or at least think they are, some people make up stuff as well. I am curious what the percentage is since this is an anonymous website where people have nothing to hide including admitting lies.

When I was about six I told my best friend Joanne that my father has a secret room where he hid his weapons, that all the members of my family had supernatural powers and that we could all fly. Then I asked her not to tell anyone becauce we could have problems.

That day she confessed that her family too had supernatural powers.

If you did it to deceive those around you, then I believe it qualifies.

Yeah, I told someone I'd seen Twilight when really I watched Teen Wolf. Or Planet of the Apes. Something where people had hairy faces, anyway.

Actually, it was a documentary about the shortage of razor blades.

When I was younger I wanted attention so I made up 2 ghosts that I would see in my bathroom. I told my mom and one day I actually did see 2 ghosts and it freaked me out. They clapped and the shower turned off and again they clapped and the lights turned off. Freaked me out and I stopped making up lies after then.

I've had a few. They were real, and even thinking about lying about them or making them up gives me chills, because one simply does not make up that kind of stuff (for my experiences, anyway). Most of the time if someone talks about that, it really happened, or at least they believe it did.

Yeah, I found Bigfoot once but I didn't want him to get captured and dissected so I lied and said it was just my imagination.

Its very rare that people lie to alot of people about things like encounters of the supernatural or even something else. Usually people tell True stories although there are definitely people who make lies on purpose. For the most part though almost all are genuine.

I have experienced manic psychosis, and I grew up in the rave 90s....I have had these experiences. While don't know what these experiences are or that they can be answered by anyone definitively at this point in time, some hypotheisise that a spiritual experience is a spiritual experience, and can attest that these experiences can occur and change one's life for better and for worse weather or not they are brain states or a bunch of similar-yet-contradicting themes or even intelligent communications from a higher self or being. I do not doubt that there are charlatans, but I would urge any doubters that such things NEVER exist to take one of the many acessible roads now available in the modern world to encounter such a thing. It is impossible to doubt the validity from within the experience and otherwise so in the absence of any beliefs that might explain such things. Before I realized there were no answers to weather or not these were supernatural events I said that they definitely were, which leads me to to think no one knows weather they have lied.

No, although I do think a couple of my experiences can be explained logically, as natural occurrences.

Having never had one and not believing in the possibility, I have nothing to lie about.
If you've had a life like mine, then there is little need to lie; the truth can indeed be stranger than fiction.

          Santana
          "Smooth"
          (feat. Rob Thomas)

          Man it's a hot one
Like seven inches from the midday sun
I hear you whisper and the words melt everyone
          But you stay so cool
My munequita, my Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa
          Your my reason for reason
          The step in my groove
And if you say this life ain't good enough
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
          Cause you're so smooth
And just like the ocean under the moon
Well that's the same emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin that can be so smooth
Gimme your heart, make it real
          Or else forget about it
          I'll tell you one thing
If you would leave it would be a crying shame
In every breath and every word
I hear your name calling me out
Out from the barrio, you hear my rhythm from your radio
You feel the turning of the world so soft and slow
          Turning you round and round

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. And I also have a mad crush on Rob Thomas in spite of or perhaps because of the fact he looks less than sane in his eyes.
