Have you ever ordered from an infomercial?

Have you ever ordered anything from an infomercial? Or even just an "As Seen on TV" product?

If so, what was it? Was it junk? Was it way different than expected? Anything else remarkable about it? Any comments about the billing, shipping or the company you bought it through?

Thanks for commenting!!

The thing that always strikes me about infomercials is that even though they make a huge deal about the special limited price, the cheap junk they sell is always so overpriced.

Only in store. Someone bought the Snuggie for me and I for them as a joke. I don't use it anymore so it must not have been that special. Someone bought me a panda pillow pet. It was just as expected. It's not as fluffy as it was when I first got it but it's still cute. I bought the mens shake weight as a joke for someone during Christmas and I heard it was a hit with him and his friends in college. I also heard it worked pretty well too.

Overall I've never been disappointed with any as seen on tv products.

I started using it again since this post. Now I just need some panda pajamas, a pair of panda slippers, and a panda mask.

All through my childhood my father told me that anybody that is "sold" on an infomercial is an idiot. Plus, I get so annoyed by them I can't watch them anyways. I have never spent any of my hard earned money on them!

A few times yes. A few times it was junk and a few times it was a very useful product. I bought some soda caps. They are caps you put on soda cans when you are finished drinking but want to save soda for later. This is helpful for keeping out insects if you are outdoor and actually keeps a lot of the fizz when you leave it out for longer. I actually didn't buy it off internet. It was one of those things that been on tv so long its in regular stores now. I would recommend it.

I was given a snuggie for Christmas, and I bought that bra strap thing-a-ma-bob.

The snuggie was great, and the bra strap thing worked most of the time. But the infomercial also said that the bra strap thing was also suppose to increase my cup size. It did not. (But then again, I also didn't really care that much).

Bought the NOW 30 CD after seeing it on an infomercial, and I thought it was pretty shitty.

No, I have not, but I know people that have.

From what they said, most of the products work, but for many, not nearly as well or conveniently as advertised.

I bought a kit to make a video projector. I say a kit, it was actually just a fresnel lens. The idea was that you cut a hole in a cardboard box, sellotape the lens over the hole and then put your computer monitor inside the box.

Did it work? Well, yes. In a pitch dark room, you could just about make out a ghost-like, hazy image on the wall.

I learned one thing, though. I learned that I am a dick.

I bought Insanity from an infommercial...It's like P90x but without weights and it was worth every penny.
